DC Universe fees waived for a month
SOE details its "make good" plan.
All DC Universe Online users will get one month subscription free as a good will gesture following the Sony Online Entertainment security breach and subsequent server downtime.
According to a statement on the game's Facebook page, all those affected will also get a "Batman-inspired" in-game mask.
"We wanted to provide everyone with a quick update regarding the 'make good' plan you've been reading about," it explains.
"First, all impacted players will receive 30 days subscription credit plus one day for each day the service was unavailable. Also every impacted player will receive a Batman-Inspired mask appearance item.
"Please bear with us as the complexities of the subscription server dictate how and when this will be available along with pertinent details. We will be releasing more information this week. Thanks again for your patience!"
Sony Online Entertainment took its servers offline yesterday after discovering the same security intrusion that took PlayStation Network down last month had also laid bare the personal details of its users.

1) Sony thinking 1 month subscription is adequate compensation for the theft of personal data, or
2) customers are actually happy with that deal.

Obviously cannot be PSN at this time!

'Possible but unlikely' theft of data.
I'm not sure what's worse, people like you who hover round like vultures trying to get as much as they can out of a bad situation.

eh? The data was stolen you know. Whether it has actually been used for fraud is another matter.

Batman "inspired" is it?

I assume this applies to active subscriptions only?
My thoughts exactly!! I intend to give it a go even though I've been off since the 30 day trial ended

They don't need to give out any compensation. Who else has given out compensation because someone hacked them and stole details? With all the data thefts that take place (the people moaning on here seem to be under the impression it's rare?) and publicised on the news, I don't recall any that gave away compensation. You have to remember that the company itself is also a victim (not saying they deserve sympathy or anything (though nor does anyone else)).
