Multiplayer Crysis 2 PS3 demo confirmed

First gameplay footage of PS3 version outed.

A new Crysis 2 video has confirmed a PlayStation 3 multiplayer demo will launch.

The gameplay video, below, shows a snippet from the single-player level "Semper Fi or Die".

At the end of the video we're told: "PS3 multiplayer demo coming soon."

Executive producer Nathan Camarillo wasn't joking last week when he said PlayStation 3 gamers "can probably hope for" a demo, then.

No date is revealed, but given the game is due out in just over a month, we expect the demo to launch soon.

A multiplayer demo is set to hit PC on 1st March. It includes two maps and two modes, each setting up six versus six matches.

Raw unfiltered PS3 footage.

From what I played in the 360 demo. Not even gonna give this a second look, the game is just horrible.

Woah there was some nasty pop in on the water falling just after 0.35.

Looks way better than the god awful 360 version. Nice graphics and no screen tear. Decent framerates too.

Yeah, definitely. I'd say it's the Cell that does it.

Given that the PS3 is vastly more powerful than the Xbox 360 (like, 10 or 20 times more powerful), you'd expect this game to look great.

I love the fact that the 360 version is sub-HD, yet the PS3 version is running at full 1080p at 60fps with 8xMSAA and 16xAnisotropic and with full 3D graphics that run at a ful 1080p60 for each eye.

Amazing... but that's the PS3 for you!

cianchristopher I can never tell whether you're deliberately being a fanboy cliché, or whether you're actually a moron.

    Which is it?

Nope, not feeling this it all. MP demo on the 360 was abysmal and something about this vid leaves me cold. Technically its all there, just seems rough around the edges somehow.

Also - voice acting. The 360 MP demo sounded like the dev team got their college mates to do it. Awful.

Actually, i see some downgrades in term of graphics. Crytek should work harder, because PS3 is not bad at all

The 360 MP demo left me cold and unimpressed. The SP looks like a rental. How did Crytek turn one of the PC's most beloved IPs in to another bland, generic pile of shooter poo? I'd have preferred a straight port of the first game to this.

@smithdown, by bringing it to consoles? there's limitations on what the devs can do with consoles and unfortunatly in case of game like crysis, it ment loosing the open world and turning it in to corridor shooter, i suspect the multiplayer has had same treatment done to it. It might still end up being a good game, but you shouldn't expect crysis 1 gameplay out of it anymore.

Yeah I got my doubts about crysis tbh. Mp looks kinda confused , it's not sure what it is . Maybe will settle down bit when cod players get bored and return to Playing that as they can't run and gun(hopefully). Controls not responsive enough to play like cod, and no one was playing tactically, so was bit of a mess on beta imo. Lag fest too, I'm hoping beta will convince me otherwise on ps3, as I'm not 100 % sold on kz3 so hoping this turns out amazing and the 360 beta was just work in progress online

  • PearOfAnguish #17 1 year ago

Don't know nor care about mp, but the single player campaign is tons of fun and definitely not generic. Like the first but with slightly smaller areas and some improved gameplay mechanics. It's the same linear narrative with sandbox man-shoot, but in a city instead of a jungle.

I think cianchristopher was just being sarcastic.

    lol cian,
I apologise if you were being sarcastic, its a brilliant piece of satire if u were mate.

its so difficult to tell whether u are a delusional fanboy or not, thats what makes it genius

Trying to limit shooters this year. Just Killzone 3 and Battlefield 3 for me
  • orangpelupa #21 1 year ago

if BF3 not release im sure i will get C2... but there's BF3 and i think i will get BF3 first... i much prefer the art in BF3.

Crysis always a tech showcase but i never like the art. Its only the art in Sunflare and ocean that i like. But in C2 there much lesser ocean sunset :(
  • king26 #22 1 year ago

When it comes to art, Killzone 2 and hopefully 3 are the leaders amongst other things
  • ithis #23 1 year ago

I like it. It's like a predator game. Too bad it doesn't have move support.

Link to a better quality version of the ps3 video, so far, still not convinced ps3 version will quite match the 360 version, but hoping that when I turn on beta , it will be same visually , but much better in terms of online connection as the 360 was woefully laggy and unresponsive for me, so regardless of visuals I won't buy it, if it's like that. I'd prefer to buy ps3 version as I prefer ds3 pad, but if Onlines ok and games good, I'll
    Buy whichever version looks best.
