Will Tatsunoko vs. Capcom 2 hit Wii 2?

Capcom coy.

It is unlikely that Wii owners will see a sequel to crossover fighting game Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Capcom has said.

But Christian Svensson, the vice president of strategic planning and business development at Capcom, refused to be drawn on the suggestion that the potential sequel could show up on Nintendo's next home console on the latest Ask Capcom session.

"Given that Wii 2 is not actually an official anything at this time, and while Nintendo has said they will be talking about new hardware at E3 publicly, they haven't given a name for it," he said.

"I would be surprised if TVC would come to the Wii. I'm not prepared to speak about a future for TVC on other consoles or Nintendo successor platform.

"The answer we gave last week about questions on Rival Schools, Power Stone, the same would apply to TVC. We have a very robust fighting game roadmap we are preparing for the next several years.

"I have to be coy. You never know what's going to show up based upon our heritage and the strength of the community that's around our fighting franchises.

"Stay tuned is all I can say."

Nintendo's next home console, codenamed Project Cafe, will be fully unveiled at the E3 trade show next month.

Capcom's Wii crossover fighting game brings the likes of Ryu, Chun-Li and Viewtiful Joe together with characters from the Tatsunoko Productions anime stable.

Matt Edwards quarter circle forwarded an 8/10 in Eurogamer's Tatsunoko vs. Capcom review.

"Ultimate All-Stars is a highly polished fighter that strikes a good balance between casual accessibility and mechanical depth," he wrote. "Although the Tatsunoko element doesn't have the same western appeal as Marvel, it doesn't tarnish a familiar fighting system that offers new tech and fresh characters."
