What's New? (6th July, 2007)

New PAL releases.

Hello everyone. Tom has let me do What's New again this week! Last time, you may recall, we explored the subject of Womens In Games. This time I have decided to go a bit more topical and give you my opinion on the equally exciting subject of the Manhunt 2 Controversy!

Let's begin by mentioning Saw and Hostel. Truth be told I have seen neither of these films but it seems it is important to talk about them when expressing an opinion on the Manhunt 2 Controversy. Normally people wait about three paragraphs until mentioning Saw and Hostel but I have never been afraid to rock the boat so here goes: you know Manhunt 2, it's not as bad as Saw and Hostel is it? Eat that, censors!

Now I have to talk about whether I have actually played Controversial Rockstar Title Manhunt 2. If I had played it I would say so, several times, to illustrate that I am good enough at having opinions about games to have been allowed to play it by Rockstar, probably at their offices off the Kings Road in that room with the big telly and no windows where you are not allowed to touch anything unless they say so.

Unfortunately I have not played Controversial Rockstar Title Manhunt 2. But I can still have an opinion on it, watch: you know Manhunt 2, I haven't seen it but it's probably quite violent and should only be for grown-ups. Saw and Hostel.

Which brings me to my next point about the Manhunt 2 Controversy: CENSORSHIP. As everyone knows censorship is never acceptable and banning videogames amounts to an abuse of human rights. In fact I shall be writing a very strong letter to Amnesty International as soon as I have finished this. I am sure they will be keen to get involved. They probably haven't had much to do since Nelson Mandela got out.

I am also considering doing a million-man march on Washington, so let me know if you're up for it. If I can't get a million men to join in I might just throw myself under a horse like ladies used to do in the old days, perhaps highlighting the plight of Womens In Games at the same time!

Right, I think that's everything. So where do YOU stand? Do you think it is bad that Manhunt 2 has been banned? Or do you think it is good that Manhunt 2 has been banned? Perhaps you would even go so far as to say it should be banned one more time just to make sure? Why not let us know your thoughts on the Manhunt 2 Controversy in the comments section below. Saw and Hostel!
