The next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character is...

Minecraft's Steve! And also Alex, Zombie and Enderman!

Minecraft's Steve is the latest character to join the bulging Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster - and that's not all. Alex, Zombie and Enderman will also be playable fighters.

Their identities were revealed this afternoon via an announcement video followed by a quick chat with series boss Masahiro Sakurai. He plays Minecraft in Survival mode, apparently, and we were treated to some screenshots.

Details on how exactly these Minecraft four will play are still to come - though we don't have long to wait. A "Battle with Steve and Alex" gameplay video will be broadcast at 3.30pm UK time this Saturday, 3rd October.

Likewise, we didn't hear when Steve and co. will turn up in-game.

With today's announcement out the way, four more characters are still to come to Smash Bros. Ultimate as part of its second Fighter Pass. There was no new information on any of those today.
