Street Fighter's Seth Killian taking the reins on PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale

From Capcom to Sony: Still fighting the good fight.

Seth Killian - former Capcom marketting chief, EVO founder, and the face of Street Fighter - has found a new home at Sony's Santa Monica Studio working on such games as PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

His official role is lead game designer for the external group at the Santa Monica studio. He explained on the PlayStation Blog that he'll work with outside studios like Journey's thatgamecompany, Sound Shapes developer Fun Bits Interactive, and most notably Superbot Entertainment, the team behind PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

"Fighting games are very close to my heart, and as someone that's spent much of my life with traditional fighters, All-Stars has been a great opportunity to take a step back and rethink fighting fundamentals from the ground up," said Killian. "The entire team was put together from scratch to create this game, and they are loaded with fighting game superstars."

Killian announced that he'll be taking All-Stars Battle Royale to EVO next week in Las Vegas, marking Sony's first official presence at the fighting game tournament.

Our Johnny Minkley got an inside look at the game a couple of months ago where he wrote, "It's good fun for sure, but whether that's dumb fun or deep fun will require the scrutiny of extended play to determine. Superficially, though, the early signs are encouraging" in his PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale preview.
