Untested Quake 4 demo out
Wait for the official one, says id.id Software is requesting that fans hold off on downloading the Quake 4 demo that's floating round the net at the moment - promising that an official one is on the way next week.
The demo, which features one single-player mission and two multiplayer maps, was inadvertently posted on id's FTP before it had even been tested. And wouldn't you know it, the multiplayer portion of the demo won't work online.
An id spokesperson said: "This version is not tested and not final... Folks should wait for the final version that we're expecting early next week."
So there you have it - the untested demo can still be found on various websites if you're that bothered, but all things considered it's probably best to wait a few days.
