The Elder Scrolls Online PS4, Xbox One closed beta invites sent out

MMO's only console beta will launch tomorrow.

Invites for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One closed beta of The Elder Scrolls Online are now being sent out to a limited number of participants.

The beta itself will go live from tomorrow, 23rd April at 3pm UK time and last until Monday, 27th April at 3pm UK time.

If you previously signed up for the closed test, now is the time to check your inboxes and spam folders.

The lucky few chosen to take part will be able to freely stream and share their gameplay.

However, characters and progress from the beta will not carry over into the final game.

The console version of The Elder Scrolls Online is due to launch on 9th June, 14 months after the MMO's initial PC release.

After a somewhat shaky start, TESO's PC version has been stabilised and expanded via a number of patches. Then, in January of this year, it was announced that the game would drop its mandatory PC subscription.

"There are only fleeting signs of life in The Elder Scrolls Online itself - and few of them have anything to do with The Elder Scrolls," Eurogamer editor Oli Welsh wrote back at the PC version's launch. "Maybe this grand project sounded like a good idea in 2007, but now it feels like a leftover obligation: a game no-one really asked for, and a flawed premise from the start."
