Earthworm Jim reappears this year

On PSN, WiiWare and XBLA.

Gameloft has signed a deal with Interplay to convert Earthworm Jim to PSN, WiiWare and XBLA.

The iconic run-and-gun platform game will appear at the end of the year, and be available exclusively to Xbox 360 owners for one month. There's no word on price.

Earthworm Jim first wriggled to the surface on Mega Drive in 1994, courtesy of Dave Perry and Shiny Entertainment. But such was its success that Jim soon tunnelled to most other available formats.

Full of surreal humour, Earthworm Jim tells the story of an earthworm that gains super powers after crawling inside a super high-tech space suit.

Perhaps more Interplay licences will be given the same treatment.
