Deus Ex: The Icarus Effect announced

It's a book by James Swallow.

A Deus Ex novel will be released next year to build excitement for Eidos Montreal's new game.

The book is called Deus Ex: The Icarus Effect and is written by British author James Swallow. The story follows "unlikely heroes" Anna Kelso and Ben Saxon, who will come "uncomfortably close to the truth" and write history with their choices.

Apparently these events and characters will overlap with the story of the new Deus Ex game.

Del Rey will publish the book.

The game, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, was unveiled around E3 last month. Eurogamer wrote a preview and interviewed lead designer Jean-François Dugas about the game.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be released in early 2011.
