Codies quiet on SWOS date

But still expected this year.

Codemasters has kept its football-like lips closed about the release date of Sensible World of Soccer on Xbox Live Arcade.

However, it did sink its studs into our news pitch and say it expected the game would be out before the end of the year. So that's something, we suppose. A bit like watching England actually turn out a performance for once.

The last we heard about Sensible World of Soccer was in July, when the publisher told us it would cost 800 points (GBP 6.80 / EUR 9.30) and be out later this summer.

We got very excited, not least because it promises to be a faithful port of the game we remember in our mind's eye, but also because we'll be able to play it against our friends on Live.

Sensible Soccer-mad Kristan managed to get his hands on the game earlier in the year to give it a run for its money, whilst chatting to game creator Jon Hare at the same time. Pop over to his first impressions of SWOS to see why the best things come to those who wait.
