The war in the Pacific just got a little larger, as Eidos has announced downloadable content will be available for Battlestations: Midway on Xbox Live tomorrow.
One new multiplayer map, Battle of the Sibuyan Sea, is included, alongside a new single-player mission, Raid on Truk.
You'll also be able to wreak havoc in five new playable units: the Iowa-class (Battleship), Shimikaze-class (Destroyer), Lockhead P-38 Lightning (Fighter), Nakajima J1N1 Gekko (Fighter) and the Type A Minisub (Submarine).
A big slice of war to cheer up a miserable week, then.
Battlestations: Midway was released on PC and Xbox 360 at the beginning of February and places you in the middle of the war that raged in the Pacific Ocean towards the end of WWII, from the famous Pearl Harbour bombings up to the Battle of Midway itself. You can take control of over 100 units including fighter planes, warships and submarines as you attempt to blow the enemy to smithereens.
Kristan's reliving the battles as we speak, so expect his thoughts on the game very soon indeed.
