PS4 Black Friday: All the best deals still available

The PS4 bargains still available from Cyber Monday - including consoles, games, PSVR and more.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday may be heading off into the sunset, but that doesn't mean that the chance for a bargain has slipped away. We've found the remaining Cyber Monday PS4 deals and collated them all right here for you to check out.

Coming into this year's Black Friday sales, we fully expected retailers to take this as an excellent opportunity to significantly discount the PS4 and PS4 Pro in order to clear any remaining stock. Sadly, that wasn't really the case. Console deals have been few and far between.

Instead, it's been games and PS Plus/PS Now where we've found the best bargains. This great PS Plus Cyber Monday offer is still doing the rounds, so at least you can catch up on any PS4 exclusives you've missed over the years for cheap!

We've been keeping an eye out for any extra PS5 stock that might still be hiding in store warehouses. Don't expect much, though - especially in the US. As for any last-minute PS5 Cyber Monday deals? Not likely!

Surprisingly, the PS4 discounts have been lacking this year. Instead, most of the top offers are on PS Plus memberships and first-party PS4 games. You can peruse the very best of the best just below.

This year's PS4 Black Friday deals

There were high hopes that we might see significant discounts on the PS4 and PS4 Pro this Black Friday. Microsoft pulled the trigger early with their huge refurbished Xbox One X deal, and there was speculation that Sony might want to shift some old stock with the PS5 coming out. We were crossing our fingers thst the PS4 Pro would go on sale, as it is more capable of handling the latest games.

Unfortunately, these deals never materialized. There are a few theories as to why - PS4 consoles have been in short supply during the pandemic, so Sony perhaps wasn't in the best position to support a massive sales spike. That said, there were a few discounts on the PS4 Slim and some decent bundles in the UK. We also got the new PSVR Mega Bundle - not discounted, but still a good deal considering the amount of tech included.

As expected, we didn't see any PS5 Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals this year. With stock running out in the blink of an eye, there was no chance Sony would bother cutting prices. However, they did treat us to a sale on the PSN store, with already reduced titles in the 'Play Station Hits' series like Horizon Zero Dawn going for less than half price. For those who prefer subscribing to their games, the PS Plus was also reduced by 25% - though ShopTo beat them out with a 34% discount. But it was Argos who really swept the board with PS4 games this year, undercutting even Amazon in a Black Friday sale that took the price of The Last of Us II down to just £25.

In summary: not quite the year we were hoping for, but still pretty good. Be sure to follow Jelly Deals on Twitter, as we'll be posting any more deals that appear, as well as the latest news on PS5 stock - if and when it appears.

Last year's best PS4 Cyber Monday deals

Last year saw some excellent PS4 Pro bundle deals as Sony looked to shift stock of their more powerful console before the arrival of the next generation. Wherever you looked, you could find a console with at least one game for £300, including new releases such as Death Stranding and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

For the slimmer console, it was the return of Amazon's exclusive PS Hits bundle that was the way to go. For £230, you got a PS4 and five of the console's top games such as Red Dead Redemption 2, Grand Theft Auto 5 and Uncharted 4. That was about it for that console version, though.

In the US, it was very much the reverse. There was a terrific PS4 slim bundle for $200 that came with God of War, The Last of Us Remastered and Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition at Amazon US. As a way to get your PS4 collection started, there really wasn't a better deal out there.

In terms of the PS4 Pro, there wasn't a great deal until after Black Friday itself when Amazon launched a surprise bundle for $299 that included Spider-Man, God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn.

Where the US also lead the way was in the world of game deals. There was really very little to get excited about in the UK, with most major or new releases barely dropping to reach the £40 mark. Of course, there was the usual 25% off PS Plus subscriptions, though, so it was the perfect time to renew.

Compare that to the US, however, where first-party releases such as Days Gone fell to their lowest ever prices. It was a perfect opportunity to catch up on some of the console's major releases that you may have missed over the last year or so.

It was PSVR where the offers were universal. Black Friday was absolutely the right time to check out Sony's attempt to capitalise on our fascination with the virtual world. You could get both Starter Kits and Mega Packs at massively reduced prices - and stock truly flew. Congrats if you managed to grab one quick enough!

Where to find the best Cyber Monday deals (next time)

As Cyber Monday comes to an end, you may find yourself fretting that you didn't secure any good bargains. Since it became more of a global event, practically every retailer now tries to find a way to get involved in the Cyber Monday sales. Whether it's the biggest retail giant or your local boutique store, you can expect to find them promoting some exclusive offers during the final weeks of November. With everyone apparently offering the best Cyber Monday deals out there, it's easy to miss out on the best savings.

Our best advice is to have an idea of what you already want to buy and how much it has cost in the months before Cyber Monday. Take the standard PS4, for example. During Cyber Monday this year, you could get a PS4 in various bundles at Game for around £250, or a PS4 with Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition, The Last of Us Remastered and Uncharted 4 for £255. Knowing that, you'd probably want to aim for a standard PlayStation 4 with at least one game for around the £200 mark to get a good value Cyber Monday PS4 deal.

If any more PS4 and PS5 Cyber Monday offers crop up at the last minute, you'll be able to find them all right here. Be sure to bookmark this page and check in later.
