But only in the USA. Force-shame.

LucasArts has confirmed that Knights of the Old Republic II will debut on Xbox before the end of the year - but only in the US. The game had originally been planned for release in February 2005.

Instead though it seems the Obsidian Entertainment chaps handling development have managed to get things finished a bit earlier than even they anticipated, and now US Xbox owners - and avid importers - will be able to sample the results sometime in December.

"We were hoping we could bring the Xbox platform into December but didn't want to make the formal announcement until we knew an earlier ship date would not compromise the quality of The Sith Lords," says LucasArts producer Mike Gallo. "We recently completed a very important milestone which confirmed we can confidently do this."

Elsewhere though - and on the PC - it's a different story. According to reports, the PC version will still be released in February as originally planned, and that's also when we can expect to see both Xbox and PC make an appearance in Europe.
