The best Amazon Black Friday tech deals, chosen by Digital Foundry

Updated Friday with dozens of new deals on PC peripherals and components, memory cards and TVs.

Massively updated as of Friday evening with tons of new deals - including gaming peripherals, hard drives and SSDs of all kinds from Seagate and WD, plus critically acclaimed Audio Technica headphones and mics.

Following our round-ups of the best deals at Dell, Ebuyer and Overclockers, I thought it would be interesting to take a look at the company at the centre of the Black Friday trend: Amazon.

If you're in a rush, here are the deals that appeared afresh earlier this morning:

Now, let's take a closer look at what we recommend in each sale category.

Much-loved Logitech gaming peripherals at a steep discount

logitechhhhh

First, Logitech and Logitech G. The G502 Hero SE is the obvious standout here, with the immensely popular gaming mouse dropping to £28. That's for the Special Edition model, which normally retails for £80, and includes the latest Hero sensor that debuted earlier this year. There are also a pair of gaming headsets, one wired and one wireless, top mechanical keyboards and the short yet powerful Yeti Nano USB mic. Finally, the deals round out with a historic low price on the excellent Z906 surround sound speakers.

Cut-price deals on WD, Seagate and Samsung storage

wd_black

WD storage, including external and internal hard drives and SSDs, have been discounted up to 30 per cent for Black Friday day. Whether you're looking to upgrade a desktop PC, a laptop or even grab some external storage for an Xbox or PS4, this is a good time to pick something up. Here are the highlights:

If you prefer Seagate to WD, they've also got some external drives discounted:

The Samsung 860 Evo, our favourite SATA SSD, is also on special offer today for less than £100. Nice!

Legendary Audio Technica headphones and mics at best ever prices

at

Legendary Audio Technica kit is on sale for today only, with discounts up to 75 per cent. The ATH-M50XGM are the ultimate reasonably priced monitor headphones, with a neutral sound signature that ensures music comes across how the artist intended. This is joined by one of the best mics for recording and streaming, the AT2020, which is available in USB and XLR varieties. We recommend XLR if you've got an interface or other kit already, or USB if you're starting out and want something easier to set up that still sounds great. The company's open and closed back gaming headphones are also available.

A wide range of PC gaming accessories, including mice, headsets and keyboards

razerrrrrrrr

Finally, we have a smorgasbord of deals on gaming peripherals (and one stupid "gaming table") from the likes of Razer, Corsair and HyperX that are well worth looking through. Here are some recommendations for stuff we've tried and liked, in no particular order:

Up to 43 per cent off HyperX gaming headsets and keyboards

hyperx

Best-ever prices on Crucial RAM and SSDs

crucial

Crucial make extremely solid RAM and SSDs, and many models are discounted heavily today on Amazon. Upgrade your laptop or desktop with a great budget SATA SSD or fast DDR4 memory for your laptop or desktop PC.

AOC gaming monitors have quickly become a great value for money choice, with several examples on our round-up of the best gaming monitors. Four examples are part of the joint AOC/Philips monitor sale on Amazon:

Best one-off deals: CPU fans, mechanical keyboards, SSDs and webcams

bestofrest

Finally, here are the best of the rest - one-off deals on select items we reckon you're going to like. The Logitech C920 webcam is a popular choice for streaming and video calling, and it's down to its lowest ever price. Another example is the Cooler Master Hyper 212, perhaps the most popular CPU fan on the market, which has had its RGB model discounted by £13. Other one-off highlights include a cheap (but reliable) mechanical keyboard and mouse combo for £30 and fast 1TB SSD from Seagate for £75 off.

Up to 40 per cent off Samsung SSDs and Micro SD cards

samsung

Samsung make some of the best flash memory in the business, so it's nice to see discounts on some of their most popular SSDs and Micro SD cards. Here's what's worth buying:

* Not a typo

Up to 30 per cent off SanDisk memory cards and SSDs

sandisk

More heavily discounted Micro SD cards, flash drives and portable SSDs now, this time from memory king SanDisk. Here are some examples, but this is just a tiny fraction of the overall sale so check out the full lot if what you're looking for isn't here!

monitors

Looking for a monitor? Amazon has got a ton of monitors, most of which are discounted for Black Friday. It's a bit of a mixed bag here, including some very ancient models that you probably wouldn't want but also more recent models at best-ever prices. Here are a few highlights from the full sale - and remember we have a full round-up of Black Friday monitor deals here too!

tvs

Another massive category sale is for a range of 4K TVs, including some nice models from Samsung, LG, Philips and so on. Here are the highlights - but check out our Black Friday 4K TV deals for models from across the web!
