Make sure to download Uncharted 4's 5GB patch

It adds the multiplayer.

Uncharted 4 launches today, and if you're picking up a creaky old physical boxed version, make sure to download the patch.

Uncharted 4's day one patch is a hefty 4.978GB and brings the game up to version 1.01. Why so big? It includes the entire multiplayer portion of the game.

That's not all. The patch adds the Encounter Selection single-player option in the menu, photo mode, the character model viewer, render modes, single-player character skins, the weapon selector, the journal viewer, concept art galleries and that old chestnut: general fixes and improvements.

A much smaller, second patch was also released, but this just seems to make bug fixes.

Uncharted 4 is clever in that it lets you get on with single-player while downloading the multiplayer. So if, like me, you just want to get going with Drake's latest adventure, you can.

Eurogamer's Uncharted 4 review went live last week. Oli liked it a lot!
