Red Dead Redemption was my favourite game of the last console generation. With an eminently passable story and an exquisite open world, it's easily the best spaghetti western in video game history.

Imagine my surprise, then, when Eurogamer editor Oli Welsh - film buff and big western fan - revealed that he'd never played it before. Resisting the urge to enact some frontier justice then and there, I turned him loose in Armadillo for the latest episode of Late to the Party.

Johnny is one quarter of the Eurogamer video team - specifically the part that looks like it comes from East London. He loves pen and paper role playing games, his dog Watson, and pretty much any video game with a bit of grimdark to it. You are almost certainly pronouncing his surname incorrectly.
