Dark Souls 3 NPC quests - defeating Pontiff Sulyvahn and Aldrich the Devourer

And how you can choose Anri's ending

CHECKLIST: BEFORE DEFEATING PONTIFF SULYVAHN BOSS

Pontiff Sulyvahn can be found in Irithyll's main cathedral, accessed by entering the sewers near the Distant Manor bonfire and making your way through the manor's interior. Once out the other side, follow the route forward until you reach the fog gate at the top of the steps. Before defeating Sulyvahn, however, ensure that the following steps are complete.

1. Help Sirris of the Sunless Realms defeat the invader in her world

Once you've defeated the creature that attacks on first crossing Irithyll bridge, return to the catacombs-side of the bridge in Lord of Ember form. Use Sirris' summon sign and, on arrival in her world, help kill the invading red phantom. Once the phantom is dead and you return home, warp to Firelink Shrine and speak with Sirris to receive the Silvercat Ring and Blessed Mail Breaker.

2. Speak with Anri of Astora at the Church of Yorshka

Provided Anri was not murdered by Horace earlier, you'll find them at the Church of Yorshka in Irithyll - located at the end of a path to the left of the lower entrance to Sulyvahn's Cathedral. Speak with them to gain the Ring of the Evil Eye if you didn't receive it before.

Now comes a second choice: there's an assassin disguised as a statue in the corner of the church. If you want a comparatively happy ending for Anri, kill the assassin before leaving the area. This will allow you to summon them for the Pontiff Sulyvahn boss fight, and will enable you to visit Anri's world to help slay an alternate version of Aldrich the Devourer in Anor Londo. This will also cause Yuria of Londo to leave Firelink Shrine for good.

However, if you leave the assassin to do their job, Anri will be murdered, enabling you to progress the Yuria of Londor quest line and access one of several alternative endings.

CHECKLIST: BEFORE DEFEATING ALDRICH THE DEVOURER BOSS

To reach Aldrich, the Devourer of Gods, climb the huge staircase in Anor Londo and enter the building through the enormous main door. Carefully make your way along the cavernous hallway and pass through the fog gate up the steps at the far end of the room. Do not defeat Aldrich before completing the following steps, however.

1a . Help Anri of Astora defeat Aldrich in their world (Anri 'good' quest line only)

If you killed the assassin and allowed Anri of Astora to live, you'll find their summon sign outside the large golden doors in Anor Londo. Use the sign to visit Anri's world and defeat the alternate version of Aldrich. Note that you'll still need to complete the Aldrich boss fight in your world to beat the game. With alternative Aldrich dead, return to Firelink Shrine and collect Anri's Straight Sword from Ludleth; he'll be seated on one of the large thrones in the main shrine chamber.

To bring Anri of Astora's 'good' quest to a close, you'll need to fight them in a duel. If you admitted to killing Horace earlier, you'll find Anri in the Smouldering Lake where you encountered Horace's hostile form. If you kept quiet about your murderous deeds, the final battle against Anri takes place up a hill near the Cathedral of the Deep.

1b. Speak with Yuria of Londo and marry Anri of Astora (Anri 'bad' quest line only)

If you allowed Anri to die, and followed the steps to bring Yuria of Londo to Firelink Shrine, return to the shrine and use the 'Talk' option to exhaust Yuria's dialogue. Once you've learned that your bride (or groom) awaits at the Temple of Darkmoon, warp to the Anor Londo bonfire.

At Anor Londo, use the rotating tower to descend to the lower level. Leave the tower and look for the enormous statue against the wall in the next chamber. If necessary, hit it to reveal a secret entrance to the Temple of Darkmoon. Speak with the pilgrim NPC waiting at the entrance to receive the sword, then approach the corpse at the end of the long corridor.

Note that using the sword on the corpse will complete the wedding ceremony, automatically unlocking the secret Yuria ending. Be sure that's what you want before you perform the ritual!

If you use the sword to complete the ceremony, collect the Chameleon spell from the now-dead pilgrim NPC back at the entrance then return to Firelink Shrine and speak Yuria. This will enable you to summon her for the Soul of Cinder boss fight at the end of the game. You can now also return to the Temple of Darkmoon to collect Anri's Straight Sword.

Continue to the list of things to do before facing the Dancer of the Boreal and Lothric, the Younger Prince.
