Dark Souls 3 NPC quests - defeating the Dancer of the Boreal and Lothric, Younger Prince

Finish things off with Sirris and advance things with Irina and Greirat

CHECKLIST: BEFORE DEFEATING THE DANCER OF THE BOREAL BOSS

To reach the imposing Dancer of the Boreal Valley boss fight, return to the Vordt of the Boreal Valley bonfire and climb the large stone stairs outside Vordt's chamber. Continue forward, pass through the doorway ahead and speak with Emma, High Priestess of Lothric Castle, once safely inside. Ensure that you've completed the following steps before besting the mighty Dancer.

1. Help Sirris of the Sunless Reals kill Holy Knight Hodrick

Once Aldrich the Devourer has been defeated in Anor Londo, a summon sign will appear outside the Pit of Hollows in the Undead Settlement, provided that you gave the Transposing Kiln to Ludleth earlier. To reach this sign, warp to the Cliff Underside bonfire, drop down to the ground and climb the steps leading up to the area where you fought the Curse-Rotted Greatwood. You'll find the summon sign you require just inside the building at the top of the steps.

When you arrive in Sirris' world, help her win the relatively challenging Holy Knight Hodrick fight to gain the Mound-Maker's covenant item if you haven't secured it already. On returning to your own world, drop down into the Pit of Hollows (you'll be able to reach the bottom without taking fall damage), and collect the Sunset Armour.

Next, warp back to Firelink Shrine and locate Hodrick's grave. You'll find it on long ledge outside, facing directly toward Lothric Castle, midway between the shrine and Iudex Gundyr bonfires. Look for the lone enemy gazing out at the horizon if you're struggling to find it - the grave is directly behind the Undead menace, and Hodrick's Sunset Shield lies here. With the shield in your possession, return to the shrine and speak with Sirris to accept her pledge of allegiance.

CHECKLIST: BEFORE DEFEATING LOTHRIC, YOUNGER PRINCE BOSS

Lothric, the younger prince, awaits at the very top of Lothric Castle. To reach him, you'll first need to navigate the perilous interior of the Grand Archives, situated beyond the Dragonslayer Armour boss bridge. It's a long, circuitous journey that eventually leads to a second, higher bridge with a fog gate at the very end. As always, before defeating the boss, ensure that you've completed the following steps. Note, however, that most of these side quests take you into extremely challenging secret areas and pit you against brutal foes. Proceed with caution.

1. Discover Eygon of Carim's corpse in Irina's cell (Irina 'good' quest line only)

If you followed Irina of Carim's 'good' quest line, return to her original cell near the Undead Settlement tower once the Dragonslayer Armour boss is dead. You'll find Eygon's corpse here and looting it will give you the Morne's Great Hammer and the Moaning Shield.

2. Locate Greirat of the Undead Settlement's ashes on roof of the Grand Archives

Once Greirat has set out on his final, fateful scavenger hunt, you'll discover his corpse on the roof of the Grand Archives. Give the ashes that you find on his body to the Handmaiden at Firelink Shrine and she'll begin selling Greirat's wares, even lowering several of her own prices.

3. Explore the Untended Graves and defeat Eygon of Carim (Irina's 'dark' quest line only)

If Eygon of Carim kidnapped Irina after you bought dark miracles from her, you'll need to clear two tough secret areas to secure her return. First, head through the Consumed King's Garden, found at the bottom of an elevator along the left path above the Dancer of the Boreal Valley room. Defeat Oceiros, the Consumed King, at the end of the garden, grab the Path of the Dragon gesture in the chamber beyond, then continue forward until you reach the pitch-black Untended Graves area.

Carefully navigate its shadowy pathways until you reach the Champion Gundyr boss battle. Once he's dead, pass through the archway at the far end of the arena and defeat the now-hostile Eygon, earning you the Morne's Great Hammer and the Moaning Shield. Next, speak with Irina twice (you may have to warp away and back for her to appear) and she'll return to Firelink Shrine. If Irina ceases to sell you miracles once back at the shrine, she'll ask you to touch her. Before doing so, purchase and equip the Morne's Gauntlets from the shrine Handmaiden.

Equip the gauntlets and speak with Irina again; she'll immediately beg you to kill her. Do so and you'll receive her ashes. If you're not wearing the gloves when you speak to her a second time, she'll disappear, preventing you from finishing her so-very-nearly-complete 'dark' quest line.

4. Collect the Eyes of a Fire Keeper from the alternative Firelink Shrine

Reach the Untended Graves, as outlined above, and defeat Champion Gundyr. Once he's down, make your way through the newly-opened gate and proceed up the hill to the near-empty, alternative-version Firelink Shrine. Enter the building and make your way to the area usually occupied by Irina in the normal world, found down the right-hand steps ahead of Andre's alcove. As you near Irina's usual home, you'll find the path blocked by an unexpected wall. Hit the wall to reveal a secret path then take the Eyes of a Fire Keeper found at the end of the tunnel.

Once you have the eyes, speak with the Fire Keeper in the normal Firelink Shrine. You'll now have the option to hand over the eyes, which will trigger one of the game's three alternative endings after the final boss. If you choose to give the eyes to the Fire Keeper, she will appear once the boss is dead. A third ending can be accessed by attacking the Fire Keeper in the last moments of this sequence, as the light fades. The fourth ending can be reached by completing the 'dark' Anri of Astora/Yuria of Londor quest line outlined in this guide.

5. Assist Hawkwood the Deserter at Archdragon Peak

In order to reach Archdragon Peak and continue Hawkwood the deserter's quest line, you'll first need the Path of the Dragon gesture found immediately after the Oceiros boss fight in the Consumed King's Garden. Once it's yours, return to Irithyll Prison and locate the squat stone dragon situated on an outside ledge at the foot long elevator. Use the gesture next to the dragon to be transported to the secret Archdragon Peak area.

On arrival at Archdragon Peak, complete the first dragon boss encounter then summon Hawkwood using the sign found near the Great Belfry bonfire. Use his help to clear out the enemies in the area and retrieve the Twinkling Dragon Torso Stone. The stone lies at the very end of a long pathway jutting out toward a huge dragon corpse on the distant horizon, directly beneath the area where you ring the bell to activate the Nameless King battle. Note that ringing the bell and attempting the boss fight will cause Hawkwood to leave the area. Use the Path of the Dragon gesture on the tomb at the end of the path to retrieve the Twinkling Dragon Torso Stone.
