Crypt of the NecroDancer gets a full release next week

Adds new levels, bosses, enemies and an "insanely difficult character".

Rhythm-based dungeon-crawler Crypt of the NecroDancer will emerge from Steam Early Access into a full release on 23rd April, developer Brace Yourself Games has announced.

Just beat it.

Crypt of the NecroDancer tasks players with venturing through a grid-based dungeon in tune to the soundtrack's beat. Player can upload their own MP3s or play along to the default musical stylings of Super Meat Boy composer Danny Baranowsky.

There's a variety of control options ranging from gamepad, to mouse & keyboard, to USB DDR pads that sync up to the game's grid-based movement. You can even play it in co-op.

As far as what's new since its Early Access build, Brace Yourself is adding a final zone, new enemies, traps, bosses, secrets, cinematics (with voice talent from Dragon Ball Z no less), Achievements, general polish, and an "insanely difficult character" named Coda. "We aren't sure it's humanly possible to complete this character," the developer goaded.

Crypt of the NecroDancer was an IGF 2014 finalist in both best design and best audio, along with being an honourable mention for the Seumas McNally Grand Prize. It currently costs £10.99 / $14.99 on Early Access.
