Top-down shooter spin-off Halo: Spartan Assault will finally receive controller support on Windows 8 machines come Thursday, 29th August, as part of a new title update entitled Operation Hydra.

In addition to the new mode of play, Operation Hydra will also include five new missions, along with new achievements.

Spartan Assault was released last month on Windows 8 PCs and Windows Phone. "Halo's touch-screen debut is good-looking, colourful, and fun," said Chris Donlan in his Halo: Spartan Assault review.
