The Wii U port of Mass Effect 3 is being developed by the studio behind Need for Speed: Shift 2 on iOS, it has been announced.

Australian developer Straight Right's only game so far is the portable Need for Speed version.

"Happy to confirm that we're developing Mass Effect 3 for Wii U with our friends at BioWare!" the team posted on its Facebook page (as spotted by The Verge).

Straight Right is a sister company to Tantalus Media, which previously was announced as helming the Wii U port. The two companies work in the same building.

Tantalus' last few projects were (in order) Funky Barn 3D for 3DS, Ben 10: Galactic Racing for DS and Megamind for DS and PSP.

Mass Effect 3 on Wii U is very much the same game as was released on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 earlier this year. The GamePad houses an area map and quick-touch controls for your most used powers. BioWare's Extended Cut ending is also included as standard.
