How to register for the LittleBigPlanet Vita beta

Sign up for a chance to play.

Sony has opened registrations for the LittleBigPlanet Vita beta.

To have a chance at gaining access to the beta, head to the LBP beta sign-up website to register your interest.

For some reason, to get onto the sign-up website, you have to copy the URL and paste it into your browser. Here's the URL:

Once there, sign in using your SEN/PSN account. This will direct you to a page saying you don't have access. Helpfully, this isn't actually the case.

What you need to do then is paste the URL into your browser again and press enter. Then, fill in the enrolment form, which asks you which LBP games you've played before and whether you own a PS Vita.

"The goal of the beta is to get feedback on the overall experience from the folk that understand it like few others - and that means you!" said Simon Rosenkotter, community coordinator of developer Tarsier Studios.

LBP on Vita is a collaboration between little-known UK developer Double11 and Swedish studio Tarsier. Double11 was formed in 2010 by ex-Rockstar engineers Lee Hutchinson and Matt Shepcar. They are acting chiefly as the technology architects on the game, working closely with Tarsier, which worked with LittleBigPlanet creator Media Molecule on the last two editions on the PlayStation 3.

With LBP Vita, rear touch is used to poke objects forward from the back of a level. Meanwhile, multi-touch is used in multiplayer with two players using either end of the screen. Obviously, online is supported and sharing creations with the community will be a major part of the experience. The Vita version will feature "all the tools from LittleBigPlanet 2".
