Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver hits PSN

Cult PSone classic for eight quid.

Cult classic third-person action adventure Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver launches tomorrow on the European PlayStation Network.

The 7.99 / 9.99 PSone Classic works on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable, said Square Enix Members.

Originally released in 1999, Soul Reaver is the second game in the Legacy of Kain series. Development was handled by Crystal Dynamics (now owned by Square Enix), after Silicon Knights completed work on the first game, Blood Omen.

It stars vampire turned wraith Raziel. He wields a big sword and is out for revenge against Kain, his ex boss.

Soul Reaver stood out for being dark, gothic and atmospheric. But it was the ability to step into the spirit world, and thus change the environment, that ensured lasting appeal.
