Valkyria Chronicles DLC this week

New maps to challenge each class.

Watercolour war game Valkyria Chronicles will be splattered with additional content this Thursday, 25th February.

The update is called Challenges of the Edy Detachment and introduces six new maps that challenge each of the classes in Edy's team (Detachment) in different ways.

There's no word on price, but SEGA's charged three quid for add-on Valkyria Chronicles content in the past.

Valkyria Chronicles is a PS3 action strategy game from late 2008 that is presented in an appealing cartoon-cum-watercolour way. And in this case, looks are not deceiving, as our Valkyria Chronicles review points out.

    @ designerheadache

Yeah, seems odd that that have not patched in trophies given they are still developing.

I'll get around to this new DLC once I clear that huge Sylvania (?) level with a 'S' rating. Bloody hard. Bloody good.

    Yay. This game is ace.

Couldn't give a monkeys about trophies.

    are they really new maps?

the last two DLC packs just reused old maps, though that didn't make them any less awesome, the maps were repurposed so as to be pretty fresh.

I'm definitely gonna get this DLC, VK is in fact the only game I've ever bought DLC for...

That reminds me, I need to overcome by DLC-phobia and get the first lot. Games like this need supporting.

Don't give a hoot about trophies though.

This game is so good it doesn't need trophies, it's brilliant fun.
That being said, it would be nice if they added them anyway, surely it wouldn't be that difficult?

I love this game, but as I'm a complete achievement/trophy whore these days I can't bring myself to finish it.

Although VC's one of the best games I've played in a long time, I was disappointed when I bought the old Edy DLC the other day and found it was just one medium-length mission. Hopefully this one will have more lasting value (I mean, sure, £3-odd's hardly a fortune, but it's pricey for half an hour's gameplay)

Edy's was short, but had multiple different outcomes depending on how fast you beat it.... though i do agree, i felt short changed tbh, i only played it once

Selvarias DLC was two quite leangthy missions, which unlocked selvarias gun for a shocktrooper if beaten, and was much better value

Great game. Still my favourite RPG of the generation so far (J, S or otherwise).

Only bought the Selvaria pack because the others seemed a little steep/not up my street. I'll get this one if it's at the right price, though.

Great, great game. Yes, please to more content.

Shame the animé was a bit bland and by the numbers though..

And about the next installment coming to the PSP... Well it's been said before but it can stand to be said again:
