Sony smacks Patapon with Euro date
Out here before the US. For once.
Sony has told Eurogamer that Patapon will be out here on 22nd February, a whole weekend and a day before the US version. Hooray!
Patapon is the latest offering from the makers of LocoRoco. You tap out rhythms to direct your army of tribesmen through various obstacles.
While the two games share a similarly charming visual style, Patapon is more complex - so you might not necessarily take to it as you did to LocoRoco.
We know all this because we had a good old tussle with it, you see, and you can catch up with our thoughts in our Patapon review.
Incidentally Sony Europe has no plans to offer a snazzy demo-to-final-save like in the US, or when you pre-order at Gamestop to be more specific. This lets you play an early part of the game and save your progress so you can start there in the retail version. You also get a rare Spear of Protection to do things with.

This American gets it! I never stop singing LR's praises, and I've already pre-ordered Patapon, paid in full. (No mention was made of the demo - I guess that doesn't apply to other retailers - but I've got enough to keep me busy through Feb.)
