Sony asks for input on UC2 playlists News

PlayStation 3 News by Tom Bramwell

11 November, 2009

Sony is polling European gamers about which new playlists they would like to see introduced in Uncharted 2 multiplayer.

The options are Plunder Only, Crushing: All Game Types (Crushing reduces player health and disables Boosters), Crushing: Deathmatch Only, Skilled Objectives (all players start with Skill Level of 1 despite progress in Ranked playlists) and Deathmatch Variants Only (e.g. Sniper/Pistole, Pistols/Grenades, RPGs and Crushing).

"We can't guarantee that we'll be releasing the most popular playlist, but we really want to know what you'd like to see, so let us know what you want - vote and be heard!" insists the European PlayStation blog, and it's there you should comment to be counted.

I'd rather they fixed the matchmaking first. I'm sick of being level 10. getting teamed up with 4 level 5 - 10 players and having to fight 5 levels 45's.

An auto-balance patch would make me a lot happier than new content.

Oh! No boosters/skills maps sound great. Sometimes you want to go back to basics.

Also the slowness in finding players - is this server or player based?

Oh, and more double money weekends too!

I too rather they focus on making online PLAYABLE to start with. It takes FAR too long to matchmake and get disconnections most of the time and end up matchmaking all over again. Other games manage to work smoothly with 3+ times as many players online.

I'll second those calls for faster match finding. I never bother to play deathmatch because it just takes waaaay to long to get a game... So I guess it's just as well that the co-op online is the best bit!

I third the call for quicker matchmaking. It takes an age to find someone. It would also be nice to have a player counter to see how many people are playing the virous types.

Quicker matchmaking and balanced matchmaking in competitive modes is pretty much a necessity but for me the most needed change would be to fix the issue in co-op whereby when one player drops out (usually because he got himself killed or has lowest score at first checkpoint) the other two players are booted get booted to the lobby. In competitive play the system selects a new host and sends everyone back to respawn and the match continues. Why not let the other two players continue in co-op?
