Silicon Knights quiet on Siren name News

Xbox 360 PC PlayStation 3 News by Tom Bramwell

28 July, 2009

Canadian developer Silicon Knights has said it isn't ready to talk about projects in development, although reiterated it has "several" on the go.

"Silicon Knights is busy working on several exciting projects," a spokesperson told Eurogamer in answer to inquiries. "Unfortunately, it is too early to disclose any details."

That follows yesterday's suggestion that the Too Human outfit's new game is called Siren in the Maelstrom.

The name was included by Telefilm Canada on a list of media projects approved to receive government funding.

We've since been reminded that a previous approval note mentioned a psychological action thriller for release in 2010, which may be connected.

And in 2005 the developer announced a collaboration with SEGA, which has yet to be released.

Silicon Knights is responsible for Too Human on Xbox 360, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes and Eternal Darkness on GameCube.

They could at least just say if it's Eternal Darkness 2, because if it isn't I don't care. I can't be bothered to put up with Dyack's bullshit a second time.

After swapping formats several times, this will be released in 2019 exclusively on Xbox Natal 980. After declaring it to be better than Shakespear in narrative, and more influential than Citizen Cane in advancing cinimatography, Dyack is furious with the Metacritic average of 36.3 and blames Neogaf.

Ah, Eternal Darkness, what a damn fine game that was, probably one of my favourites on the GameCube. As for Too Human and contrary to some peoples hatred of the game, I personally enjoyed that also. I hope if this new game is connected to one of these two, that it'll be Eternal Darkness though, I need more mind twisting horror games in my collection, especially now Resi Evil is more action orientated!

Siren in the maelstrom sounds like it is something to do with the Too Human universe. At least maelstrom is of nordic origin, even if Siren is greek. They always said Too Human was a planned trilogy..

Why does everyone always only remember Eternal Darkness and Too Human?

I wish Silicon Knights would make a proper Blood Omen 2.

I know this is totally off topic but does anyone remember a TV programme (mini series?) in the 80's which I think was called Maelstrom? I can just barely remember it taking place in the build up to mid summer's night in a northern European country where the sun doesn't set...

Back on topic - I too would love a new Eternal Darkness!

@Malek86:

Why does everyone always only remember Eternal Darkness and Too Human?

Damn right, it's about time they gave us the sequel to Dark Legions.

On a more serious note, Too Human 2 would be sweet, but I'd settle for pretty much anything.
