Scared 2 expansion named, detailed

Ice & Blood introduces Dragon Mage.

Ascaron has whipped the wrappers off the Sacred 2 expansion, which will be called Ice & Blood and be released during the latter half of the year.

The add-on will be PC-only, and offered worldwide in shops and online - although not in North America, Canada, Mexico or Russia, which is an interesting interpretation of "worldwide".

Ice & Blood introduces the Dragon Mage character, who can turn into a demon and a dragon, ride a fancy flaming horse and unleash some nasty spells. Look at him go! Bosh!

Mr Dragon Mage will go off on his own adventure, passing through new snowy and scorched lands, encountering new enemies and looting new items. There will be special items for existing classes too, so they don't feel left out.

Head over to our Sacred 2: Ice & Blood gallery for a thrust of screenshots.

    If it is available on the web why not let North America, Canada, Russia etc download it?
  • Kain201 #8 3 years ago

    @Emilia'sHorse:

    There are publishers in those countrys that have exclusive publishing rights.

    "although not in North America, Canada, Mexico or Russia"

    You may want to brush up on your geography knowledge.

    Im so sick and tired of dragons, and I didnt like Sacred 2. It wasnt fun to play, it didnt had an interesting storyline, and had some kind of annoying, cryptic protection system that didnt even let me register the game. And now they think that if they add dragons, it will make the game cool.

    @DrMGinius

    Are you sure you played Sacred 2? There are at least 8 dragon bosses you can battle without the expansion. What the expansion is adding is a dragon mage character.
    BTW, why are you sick and tired of dragons? Were there an influx of games with dragons I don't know about in the past few years?
  • DrMGinius #12 3 years ago

    @DjFlex52 A dragon shapeshifter guy wont make the game better tough (in thematic concerns).

    Dragons? Well, A lot of Lotr games, most Warcraft games, every single Heroes of Might and Magic game I guess, in Warhammer Fantasy... all of them have dragons, but im not only speaking of videogames; in lots of fantasy works, they add dragons. They are VERY over exploited and cliché, just as elves, so im sick and tired of them... howver the fantasy works I mentioned are old, classics if you like, but it happens with new proyewcts too: Dragon Age contains the word "dragon" in the very title, for example, and there are a lot of books with dragons.

    Its just that I think the game is passable at best, and I also think dragons are getting annoying... there is no reason to get angry.

    Don't expect better support. Studio II and Ascaron are officially dead. The game will be released by Deep Silver, but support, well, there will be a problem.
    CDV and Koch Media announced that they will keep the US and EU servers open, but no-one mentioned who's going to do the possible needed patches.
    Also Deep Silver mentioned the fact that the expansion will have the same DRM as Sacred 2 (and they still asking themseleves, why the small sales?), meaning online activation with limited installs. Knowing that Ascaron went belly up, who's gonna give us more activations? Sheer stupidity.
    Now, that we took Sacred 2 expansion out of the way, what the hell is SCARED 2 and why its expansion has the same name as the Sacred2' expansion?! :D

    Ascaron is not - and was never - responsible for the online activation system. This is all under SecuROMs control. If you need additional activations you can always send them an email. Deep Silver has also announced that, in the case of closing down the support for Sacred 2, they will remove the DRM completely.
