No SSFII Turbo HD for PSN this week

European gamers forced to wait.

Capcom has admitted that Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will not be released on PlayStation Network in Europe this week.

The publisher has previously refused to comment on the PSN version - despite the fact it launches in the US this week - but a spokesperson told Eurogamer today that "it's definitely not this week".

HD Remix is due out in the US today on PSN and worldwide tomorrow on Xbox Live Arcade, where it will cost USD 14.99 and 1200 Microsoft Points (GBP 10.20 / EUR 14.40) respectively.

The fancy HD-graphics version of one of the best 2D beat-'em-ups ever has been in development for almost as long as Capcom has existed, and features 1080p visuals, a soundtrack by OCRemix and online play among its new features.

what the hell? ive been looking forward to buying it all week how annoying. guess i'll have to put up with the 360s dpad for a while longer then till i get a stick sorted out that works on both machines.
  • superfurryanimal #2 3 years ago

You absolute set of fucking cuntbags.
Its Tekken online all over again.
  • saku_luk #3 3 years ago

And no trophies, same with bionic rearmed..."we will put trophies later", well its 4-5 months since rearmed was released and still no trophies....so ya ;p
  • YobRenoops #4 3 years ago

Oh well. To be honest I kind of expected this. Things are much better now but I can see SCEE being extremely anal with QA testing something like this, same as they were with Wipeout HD. Obviously don't mention Super Puzzle Fighter...
  • Miths #5 3 years ago

I guess it's going to be US account + Entropay once again. But I do feel sorry for those without that or a similar option.
  • sailesh #6 3 years ago

wft (;_;) - they are forcing me to get the 360 version aren't they... i got no arcade stick fer dat!!
  • SpyroViper #7 3 years ago

Guess I'm getting this on 360. It's not nice how Capcom has ocne again screwed over us Europeans.. I really think they hate us, and I don't want to hear any localisation crap, Capcom is a huge company and can easily localise a version for worldwide release.. M$ has it, why not PSN?
  • septimus #8 3 years ago

No way am I getting the 360 version, no matter how much I want this. The pad is just to crappy for these games.

Sod you Capcom, there is no reason for this. Sony has centralised certification for games at the moment.
  • NinjaWilliams #9 3 years ago

Oh well just have to wait it out, im not getting 360 version sod dat im gonna cancel my live sub soon, PSN all the way = FREE! :)
  • muscleblade #10 3 years ago

Getting this tomorrow on XBLA and with the achievements wich is pretty fun and challenging btw.
  • Beano #11 3 years ago

"M$ has it, why not PSN? "

Because of Sony's stupid locilazation requirements and games have to be submitted and approved in each region. Just stupid. I'm buyin' it from the US Store... just a shame Sony continue to shaft Europe like this and not trying to get worldwise releases for key PSN titles!!
  • muscleblade #12 3 years ago

According to IGN the D-pad works great with this game for some reason.
  • danathjo #13 3 years ago

what a bunch of fucking fuckwits!!!!!
i hope the xbot version kicks it arse in sales now...bunch of slack jawed cunts
  • Beano #14 3 years ago

"According to IGN the D-pad works great with this game for some reason. "

On PS3 yes, on 360 not so much...
  • Beano #15 3 years ago

    IGN:

"If you're interested in comparisons between the PS3 and 360 versions of HD Remix, Street Fighter fans will be happy to know that both are excellent and there's little difference between them. I (along with many others) greatly prefer the PS3 controller's D-pad over the 360 option, so that's something to consider if you plan on going down the controller route."

    ...and...

"The simplified special move commands make HD Remix totally playable on a standard pad, or a Sony pad, at least -- 360 users will have to learn to use the analog stick instead of that miserable digital directional monstrosity. "

Its been stated before that SCEE takes about a week longer due to a more robust and informative bug check process.

Are you really that desperate to get this that you MUST get it this week?
  • YobRenoops #17 3 years ago

And perhaps all the people spouting vitriol above should read this comic and substitute youtube for eurogamer.

  • nbnz #19 3 years ago

This is not Capcom's fault. It is once again because SCEE take 2-3 times longer to certify games than SCEA do.
And MS have a centralised global certification process. Something Sony will move to but has not yet.

Use Capcom's Age Of Booty as an example. Out on US PSN on 13 Nov, EU PSN 27 Nov. So if it's similar with SFII then expect it 11 Dec. 2 week wait is OK by me.

As for the trophies - it's classic "bait and switch". For BCR, before launch it was "we'll patch it after launch". But now everyone has bought it, they say "priorities have shifted". They might as well say "we've already got your money - suckers!!"
  • YobRenoops #20 3 years ago

Beano, if you actually followed the link and read the article thats exactly what it says.

Please don't act like a 12 year old with an attitude, you posts are normal quite coherant (for this website!)

edited because i was little unfair to Beano....

If I was buying Super Streetfighter II then it would *NOT* be for the Xbox 360 as it has a ghastly unresponsive, uncomfortable D-pad that would make the game unplayable IMO. It's the perfect game for the PS3's wonderful D-pad however.

Wankers, the lot of 'em. Actually, I don't care as R2 was dispatched from shopto this morning. :D

This sucks, I'm really looking forward to this game...
I'm tempted to get the 360 version, but I don't like the idea of paying for online services, so I guess I'll just wait.
  • YobRenoops #26 3 years ago

Just trying to keep things informative instead of saying "fucking cuntbags" to something I don't appear to understand.

This will be a US download for me; why Sony have yet to bring PSN release in line globally yet is beyond me.

It seems most of the 16 PSN games I have purchased are from the US, but always prefer to buy the euro version when sony give it to us day and date with the US release.

  • BulletTheory05 #29 3 years ago

who else is getting it tonight off the US store?

    CobraKai85, hit me up
  • Remy #30 3 years ago

If you like Street Fighter, you owe it to yourself to get this on 360. And for your people too! (but do get a joystick obviously)
  • muscleblade #31 3 years ago

    @Darren

Unless of course you have the SCIV arcade stick that i have. LOL. Cant wait. This can end up being my GOTY XBLA game. Woohoo.

Sorry for the delay, have been on me dinner.
    Okay.
I do understand what a delay to a game release is, you condescending arsehole.

    noooooooooooooooooooooo!

I've been more than patient - I even said 'no' to Lara Croft last Friday to make way for this!
  • optimusprym8 #36 3 years ago

it's because there is more than one country in EU, every supported language has to have the shop content updated, tested, verified etc at the same time. There is more out there than the UK, don't be so US about it.
  • SpyroViper #37 3 years ago

And that explains the M$ UK version out tommorow does it?

But SCEE is a total cluster f**K the way they operate. M$ are much more organised.. Though I would have preferred this game on PS3 due to the shitty 360 D-Pad.. Time for a custom made Arcade stick!!

Except they don't :) I'm not buying BCR till they give trophies :)

  • Robyrt #39 3 years ago

Noooo! My 360 arcade stick just broke, so it's gonna be me and Mr. No-Diagonals D-Pad spending some quality time together.
  • SpyroViper #40 3 years ago

Why don't you get a proper arcade stick custom made from Arcadeinabox.com

They are the best manufacturers of this stuff and they use the same materials as on the Tournament arcade boxes. It's 260$ for the one I want (176 quid) but its not bad. Might get two!
  • layleeloo #41 3 years ago

its 23:30 here in the Uk and its STILL not on the US store? What a load of tosh
  • SpyroViper #42 3 years ago

The store doesn't get updated untill at least 15:00 GMT. So around 9 - 10am in america. But then the US store won't get updated untill their 15:00. So we'll most likely get it unlocked in the store before them.. unless there is something I'm missing here..
