Hear Kameo's story

In a series of podcasts.

Microsoft has announced plans to release an eight-part series of podcasts revealing the story behind forthcoming Xbox 360 title Kameo: Elements of Power.

The podcasts will be available from the game's official website - and you can choose whether to download a new chapter each week, or subscribe to have them delivered straight to your preferred podcasting program and/or audio device.

The first chapter will reveal the secrets of the Wotnot book, a magical tome which controls nature and the Elemental Warriors. You'll also learn about the titular Element of Power, a mystical jewel that gives the owner magical powers of transformation. As the series progresses you'll get to meet characters from the game, including Kameo, Ortho and Mystic.

Kameo will most likely hit European shop shelves on December 2, the same day as the Xbox 360. Developed by Rare, it's a key title for Microsoft and one of the most eagerly-anticipated games for their new console. In fact it's such a big deal there are already plans to do an animated film based on the game, don't you know.

Me neither. 'Cameo' is the sequel to Ricky Gervais' 'extras' right?

Wow, Smelly, you're really working that anti 360 bias. Surely it must make you lose weight.

The other thing i love about forums is that people presume that others are as sad as themselves.

Why on EARTH would I (or anyone else) have a bias for or against a machine that isnt out yet, I havent seen a game running on, nor have i played any games on it?

I *do* tend to go in favour of the machine with the games i want to play on it.. but for all the reasons i've stated above i dont have a pro/anti 360 stance at the moment.

    Strange.

I was commenting (As i would if this was STILL a nintendo product) that the who concept of a pod broadcast based on this story sounds a little.. well.. dull to me.. Now if they were going to do a movie based on following game.. i'd be more than willing to watch.

Kameo's oookay. But don't expect anything great. I've played a demo and it seems a fairly okay platform style title in the mold of Altered Echo (the form changing thing is similar). The character designs are pretty ugly and someone in their art dept doesn't no the meaning of holding back when using colours. The game is gaudy as hell. Graphics are solid, with lots of the nice effects the top xbox games have been using (like Halo2 and Doom3) running at a pretty solid 30fps. I really did think next gen would mostly run at 60hz though :(
Well, not that it bothers me the X360 is gonna be worth it just to play Halo1 on with wireless pads and a higher res :)

you people need to know what your talking about before you blast the game..

have you played it yet? if you take the time to check out the dev vids you would see how much the game has come along - and why ms is pushing it forward as such a key title...

I played Kameo for quite some time easlier this week (we had an apartment with 4 Xbox 360 for the whole day) and to me the game has move to my "must-buy" list.

True, it's a regular Action-adventure-kind-of-RPG but I think it looks lovely and played great too. I think the character design was spot on.

The pod-cast will be quite fun to lsiten to to get into the modd of the game I guess.
