Mafia 2 due to arrive by August
Some time in Q3, says Take-Two boss.
The sequel to action adventure effort Mafia is slated for a release by the start of August next year.
That's according to Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick. He was speaking during an investors' call, as overheard by Joystiq.
Zelnick said Mafia 2 is "scheduled to fall in our third quarter" - which means some time between 1st May and 31st July. The game is in development for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Besides, there are tons of games being released in the first half of next year. If the dates slide for them too, I can live with that because there are tons of games to catch up with!
On the other side I do understand why people get annoyed by unending delays.
Perhaps if developers/publishers stop pimping their unfinished tech demos so early, people might not get so worked up about delays.
I say start the marketing machine six months prior to release, when they’ve got the game in a fully functional virtually releasable state.
