Heavy Rain's Taxidermist DLC dated

Here on April Fools' Day.

The first drop of Heavy Rain downloadable content, The Taxidermist, will be available to all PS3 owners on 1st April, and you'll need $4.99 to buy it.

The date was announced on the US PlayStation blog.

Previously only pre-order customers and journalists could access the content. And, as pre-order customers are selfish, it was once more up to Eurogamer to write hands-on impressions. So we did.

Briefly, The Taxidermist features Madison Paige's bottom, and then later the rest of her, as she breaks and enters a house looking for clues about the Origami Killer.

    Just finished this last night. Can't wait for some more.
    Most enjoyable thing I've played in along time.
    Looking forward to going back and seeing some different endings as well.

    Eh, hardly looking forward to it. My friend played it and it was disappointing as he described it as laggy controls, unpolished environments, etc.I could see a huge difference between the game and the Taxidermist DLC in how polished graphically it looks.

    Edit: Liked how I got -17 for simply stating my opinion on the DLC.

    Its short and I found it kinda dull. I hope the other DLC is better.

    Do people think this is worth £3.20? I loved the main game but not sure if this is worth the money based on the comments so far.

    I know that sounds kind of tight but when there's going to be 4 of these (speculatively) and you can get Plants Vs Zombies for £1.79 I'm kind of re-evaluating how much I pay for games.

    Err.. EUROgamer. This was an announcement on the US blog and applies to the US. The whole 'dollar price' thing might be a clue. There's absolutely nothing about a release date on the EU blog. Although 1st April is a Thursday so a same day release is possible, there's nothing to say it will be that day - many things have been delayed between the US and here, sometimes by months. How about you actually finding out the relevant release date before you post a news item about it? You know, journalism and stuff?

    @jonbwfc, ever consider that eurogamer might have US readers?? ps: an American release usually follows a fast EU release. Besides still counts as gaming news, so leave the real journalists to it. :)

    I played this on the limited edition and this is indeed very short. Not sure they should sell this if not bundled up with another three episodes at least.

    It's actually a really effective intro for Madison, much better than the shitty cheap shock dream sequence that's in the game. Great way to get acquainted with her character, well worth a few quid.

    i dont know... considering the playtime and replayability the price is a bit too high... especially for content which was produced year ago with marketing purpose of being shown at game shows. I love Heavy Rain but i simply hate DLC pricing. Will probably wait for some kind of deal like all HR DLCS for the price of one

    Absolutely agree with Oh-Bollox. This way we get to see that she is a journalist and looking for the Origami Killer, when I first played Heavy Rain, I found Madison's opening the weakest of the four characters.
