Fable III due out "this holiday"

Molyneux presenting at X10.

Microsoft has announced that Fable III will be released "this holiday" on Xbox 360, which is "in the run-up to Christmas" in old money.

The news came out of today's X10 event in San Francisco where the platform holder has already announced dates for Alan Wake and the Halo: Reach beta and Capcom has dated Dead Rising 2 and promised an exclusive 360 playable prologue.

Earlier Lionhead founder and Microsoft Game Studios Europe creative director Peter Molyneux tweeted about his Fable III presentation, promising to "talk about being king" but not "about the new gameplay", to "talk about touch and how unique it is", to "talk about new combat" and "don't upset people".

Eurogamer is on the scene in San Francisco, so watch out for Fable III impressions as soon as we can get them ready for you.

Don't upset people? Why Peter I'm sure it was only t'other day you said you were going to piss us all off? Starting with the lies early? THE LIES!! THE LIES!!

As long as you don't force me to kill the dog again I'll forgive you.

Checked Major Nelson's site for posts from X10. I don't see anything on Fable 3. What is it that will make people so upset. It seems that PM is being a little hyperbolic.

I did find out that there will be a FFXIII Xbox 360 250GB bundle

The Xbox 360 Final Fantasy XIII Special Edition Bundle will release starting March 9 in the US for $399, and include a 250GB Hard Drive, two Wireless Controllers, exclusive downloadable content and a Standard Edition copy of the game. Don't know if this will be available in UK/Europe.

    and

The Halo Reach multiplayer beta will kick off on May 3. You will be able to access the beta via the Halo 3: ODST game disc.

Dead Rising 2 will release in North America on Aug. 31, Japan on Sept. 2 and Europe on Sept. 3.

Dead Rising: CASE ZERO an exclusive download only on Xbox LIVE, will launch prior to the full game and provide a playable prologue that bridges the story between the two titles.

Alan Wake pre-order - the Bright Falls Bonus Pack, which includes exclusive content like Avatar gear, an Xbox LIVE theme, and a “making of” video.

Toy Soldiers will kick off the Xbox LIVE Arcade Block Party on March 3

Perfect Dark, Scrap Metal and Game Room will launch this March as a part of the Xbox LIVE Arcade Block Party.

Lost Planet 2 will launch in North America and Europe on May 18.

Too many games coming, it actually kind of irritates me that a new Fable 3 is coming out so soon :\

    Exclusive downloadable content for FFXIII?

Uh-oh. It's bad enough seeing people so worried about differences between versions as it is, without throwing this into the mix.

    'Creative Director' LOL...
    ...and 'this holiday' LOL...
...This is Europe Peter, you are MGS Europe Creative Director, so it's autumn, or if yer running a bit late, Christmas*, or even year-end.

*Assuming no laws have/are being passed to ban the use of the term Christmas so as not to upset some bloke and his family who are swimming the channel at this very moment.
