Epic hands out prizes for best UT3 mods
Lists them for handy consumption.
Epic Games has picked and listed the best user-created pieces of content for Unreal Tournament 3.
This concludes the second phase of the Make Something Unreal Tournament, and will share a pool of USD 70,000 among the star finishers.
The winning entries will be showcased at the Game Developers Conference in late March. Or you can download them now, by clicking on the various links below. We organised them for you, that's very nice of us.
Phase 3 begins in April and the entry deadline is 15th May. Participation in previous phases is not necessary.
The Make Something Unreal competition will eventually hand out USD 1 million in prizes, ranging from computer components up to a licence for Unreal Engine 3 - undoubtedly the engine-star of this generation.
More importantly the competition unearths some serious talent, most of which has been snapped up by Epic over the years.
Last year Tripwire won with World War II shooter Red Orchestra, which can be snapped up on Steam now.
The full list of phase 2 winners follows:
Best New Character or Customization Pack
Best New Vechicle
Best New Vehicle CTF Level
Best New Deathmatch
Best New Warfare Level
Best Graphics
Best Use of Physics
Best Machinima

With any luck I'll get a hold of them eventually.
Not played UT3 in a while, hopefully I'll be able to get back into it again

@ Mox
I remember XMP. It was great fun. I never tried UTXMP though, not sure how many people still play it.
I hope Epic make Unreal 3 at some point, or at least make a proper single player campaign for UT3 DLC 'cos the current one sucks. UT99/2003/2004 all had deep and very long (none of this "complete the game in 4hrs on first go, normal difficulty" crap - I'm looking at you COD4) single player story which revolved around an actual Tournament.
