Dragon Age Awakening DLC revealed

One for the fantasy Amgarraks.

BioWare has unveiled Golems of Amgarrak for Dragon Age: Origins.

Due out on 10th August, this downloadable add-on follows a missing Dwarven expedition into an ancient underground ruin where an army of golems was being created. What happened down there? You'll have to find out.

You can import Wardens used for the original Dragon Age: Origins campaign, or you can create a new high-level character if you fancy trying another class or something along those lines. You've always been a bit experimental.

Golems of Amgarrak offers rewards that transfer into both the Origins and Awakening campaigns, and also introduces new characters, "never-before-seen" creatures, an "engrossing" storyline and "challenging" puzzles.

Golems of Amgarrak will be available for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. The add-on will cost $5 or 400 Microsoft Points/BioWare Points.

I think Bioware should work on releasing larger expansions i.e Awakenings, rather than this type of DLC which is very mixed quality.

    "never-before-seen" creatures

A palette swap of an existing creature with a different name.

    an "engrossing" storyline

Another flimsy excuse to get you into a dungeon crawl.

    "challenging" puzzles.

You need to find a key hidden in a chest. But this time, the chest is obscured by the camera.

Thanks, but its not enough to bring me back to the game. I finished the main story long ago, and based on previous "stand alone" DLC (other than awakenings) I think i'll give this a miss.

Yeah, that hit me too. DLC for the DLC.
Dammit Bioware, this is getting confusing!

    @darkmorgado +100

For some reason I never really minded going into yet another cave in Oblivion like I did dungeons in Dragon Age. Perhaps it was because I knew I'd be in there for several hours fighting yet more skeletons (why was it always skeletons? Even in the werewolf quest, skeletons)

Technically, Awakening is an expansion pack, not DLC. This doesn't look promising, though. It's also amusing how they've used Mass Effect 2's theme for the trailer.

    Awakening isn't DLC.

and yes this is becoming too much DLC

but DA and Bioware still rule the world

Aside from Return to Ostagar, which still had a few great emotional beats, I've been 100% satisfied with all of the Dragon Age DLC. Lelianna's Song in particular is a fantastic way to spend ninety minutes, whilst Awakenings, whilst being a little short for it's price, was a great expansion. As such I'm definitely looking forward to this.

Already finished the game, one extra dungeon feels meh if the overall world is remaining static and unchanged.

Need emergent behaving game-world, then all these new quests being slotted in would not be out of context to your game, no matter what point of it you are at.

    Brilliant! :D

In my 100 hours playing Dragon Age I'm pretty sure I've never had to pick up a key from a chest.

I just hope that it doesn't feature Oghren again (although this having a dwarven theme it's probably a given that he'll be in it :( ).
I thought Awakenings was great but he irritated the life out of me, but horses for courses and all that I suppose...

That's probably what took you so long so Raiftel

Well, at least the price is reasonable. I can't believe what I payed for Awakenings, which felt like $5 DLC in own right.
