Why pay all that money for shortcuts for the kit...the fun of the game is unlocking the kit !!!!
  • Eraysor #2 2 years ago

I prefer to unlock my content by actually playing the game. What is the point in playing if you essentially cheat your way to the finish line?

EDIT: (didn't even see the above post!)

Some people don't have time to unlock all the kit, and also don't like having the distinct disadvantage of getting hammered by the jobless for the few hours a week they can get online.
  • sfp_noodle #4 2 years ago

It's DLC like this that make me miss last gen most. I miss entering finger codes when I felt like cheating or couldn't be bothered to unlock everything. The fact that so many games now use this as a DLC feature is very very sad. And people say the online space is expanding. I don't want this kind of 'expansion' thanks

Looking forward too Onslaught the shortcuts... Not so much.
  • TheRealBadabing #6 2 years ago

At least they didn't release the shortcuts on release.

I'm looking at you, Black Rock.

Yet more proof of how much DICE loves the PC
  • TenderChicken #8 2 years ago

Paying the unlock the classes, what a sad, ad age we live in. Unlocking the new weapons is great fun! It's a great incentive to keep playing as a certain class. They should be releasing new weapons for unlock. And how about some new maps for conquest and rush?
  • booner #9 2 years ago

.....and PC gets????? We were messed around for months with shitty connection problems, got a couple of maps free and now nothing? Probably because we won't pay for it...
  • asharkman #10 2 years ago

Who cares let em release that stuff, if people are willing to pay, sure let em.
I want onslaught, they're releasing it 20days late!!!
  • onezeonx #11 2 years ago

    kit shortcuts?

ffs when i get killed i can atleast know the guy earned his weapons (or got lucky picking one up)
but know ill end up getting messages saying im a loser for paying for guns lol

EA/DICE are money grabbing fucks....more so EA :p
  • metalangel #12 2 years ago

Fuck off, seriously. There's serious balancing issues still present in the game, but we won't fix those.

We insulted you already with the so-called 'VIP DLC' which just took existing maps, and moved the checkpoints around. We called these 'Map Packs' even though they were ALREADY ON THE DISC and just remotely activated them.

Now we're taking same maps (which are still on the disc, remember) and moving the various check and spawn points around, AGAIN, and now charging you for the privilege (the AI already exists for the singleplayer campaign, making them spawn in a multiplayer map is piss easy)

AND if that weren't enough, for a mere HALF WHAT THE GAME COSTS NEW (or a third, depending on where you bought it), we'll flip a tiny little switch that turns all the stuff from greyed out to available.

Anyone who buys this stuff is a complete cretin, and you're only encouraging them to screw us over even harder next time.

    Seems a bit expensive!

What's the point of the £10 unlock for online, when they want even more money from us?

    Honestly, I'm not buying this.
  • max75 #16 2 years ago

    new maps please...........
  • Whizzo #17 2 years ago

After hearing how Onslaught actually plays on Weekend Confirmed a couple of weeks ago my enthusiasm for it completely melted away.

I love to see how people praised EA when releasing BFBC2, and how Activsion were a bunch of money hungry fat bastards.

Especially when they released so called "free" map packs. Those maps weren't free, you paid for them upon release, they just held them back from you.

These companies are all the same, they just want to make money, loads of money. EA is just as bad as Activision.

"Why pay all that money for shortcuts for the kit...the fun of the game is unlocking the kit !!!!"
Have to say I agree. However I don't really care what the person killing me has so it makes no difference really.

Shame this pack doesn't seem for me. I'd just like some new rush maps.

    Still, my GOTY though :)
  • CaptainQuint #20 2 years ago

    And still no new maps...

I loved this game for a while; but being a fan of Squad Deathmatch I quickly grew tired of the same tiny handful of maps available. DICE shot themselves in the foot with the terrible VIP code bollocks which they thought would trick owners into thinking they were getting free DLC.

    Bad form indeed.
  • greekgoddj #21 2 years ago

Was quick to support the game from new and the $10 dollar project only to find out that it was all a joke. "VIP Pack" my a**. THey offered nothing new, just unlocking existing content on the disc. sold it and not falling for the "VIP Pac" BS again.
  • Emmit_Assassin #22 2 years ago

And my VIP code has gotten me what, exactly? Fuck all so far. This was the first game I bought new BECAUSE of the 'project ten dollar' idea. Never again. That's the last penny EA get outa me. I'm never buying anymore EA Sports games due to the online features being fucked over by the money pinching bastards. How can EA turn their reputation around from the spawn of evil, to the good guys, then back to the spawn of the devil in such a short time?
  • devilmyarse #23 2 years ago

When it said 'equipment shortcuts' I got really excited thinking they were finally going to allow you have 'favourite kits' or something. Instead of having to select everything manually every time you want to tailor your class to a certain situation (as in having AT mines instead of CG, or putting a shotgun on your Recon to make more effective use of your motion mines).

Who's sad enough to pay EA to unlock all the content for you? It just doesn't make sense, like those Time is Money DLCs on Skate 2/3. Just doesn't make sense, at all. Why buy a game, and then PAY not to play it?
  • Golgo #24 2 years ago

Kit shortcuts? That is truly lame. Almost as lame as eking out the same 8 maps with 'new' modes. Give us some genuine new maps and fix the damn server-disconnect issues, please. Oh, and get rid of the 300 spawn ticket tweak which has fucked everything.
  • Shikasama #25 2 years ago

Next time anyone even vaguely associated with DICE or EA make a comment about MW's DLC prices, I'm pointing them to this.

  • hahayou #26 2 years ago

I thought the fun was the sneaky assaults, against-all-odds last stands, and all-round explosive insanity like trying to deal with enemy snipers by crashing your helicopter into them. Apparently not.

Still, it probably took them all of 5 minutes to make the shortcuts - the prices are crazier than a cavalry regiment of horse armour.
  • Seabeast #27 2 years ago

I did enjoy my time on BF2 but the freakin VIP code 'map packs' are worse than anything Activision have done with MW2. All they did were hold back game modes on certain maps and then released them as if they were new content for us. It's like IW only allowing us to play TDM on Afgan then giving us a patch every other month saying 'FREE DLC you can now play Sabotage on Afgan!'

I still think the MW2 maps are overpriced, 800ms points would be a fair price.

I really hope these trends don't continue, because overpriced map packs and locked content on the disc made me sell both games.

  • Fab4 #28 2 years ago

Maybe they could lower the cost if they didnt pay someone to give the packs ludicrous names...just go back to Map Pack 1/A.
  • 00.00.01 #29 2 years ago

    Typo...It should be 'Kid Shortcuts'.
  • ChaK #30 2 years ago

oh man that made me laugh.

way to treat customers as dumb while trying to rape their wallet.

I'll think twice before buying any new EA game
  • geeza2020 #31 2 years ago

I remember the days when the only DLC that was released for multiplayer fps's were new maps and weapons, and they were always free.

Now that its all about selling to the dumbass casuals, we get charged for turds like this.

I hate the way the games business is going. It seems to be becoming more and more about how much the consumer can be ripped off rather than supplying us with a great product.

    Thanks capitalism!!
  • carlitoswagon #32 2 years ago

The only thing worth paying for is new maps. The rest is optional and only a fucking spakker would fork out for unlocking kit before they've actually earned it. TOnly takes away the fun and sense of achievement. Worse, it reminds me of half the cretins playing/cheating their way through MW2 mp.

We're did it all go wrong!! Thank fuck the game itself is incredible.

  • rickyhabana #33 2 years ago

well i've hardly touched it since it started taking an age to level up, and after getting all the weapons there's no motivation, so unless you're in a clan there really is no point, even though it's a class game.
