You'll want a powerful PC to play Wolfenstein: The New Order

Want to play the PC version of the new Wolfenstein game as its creators intended it to be experienced? Then you'll need a beefy rig.

Bethesda said you'll need an Intel Core i7 or equivalent AMD processor to get Wolfenstein: The New Order running at 60 frames per second and as a "next-gen experience".

"These are the system requirements to deliver the PC game as it was intended to be experienced," Bethesda said on its blog.

• 64-bit Windows 7/Windows 8
• Intel Core i7 or equivalent AMD
• 4 GB System RAM
• 50 GB free HDD space
• GeForce 460, ATI Radeon HD 6850
• High Speed Internet Connection
• Steam account and activation required

Of course, the game is coming to consoles, too. Bethesda added hard drive requirements for the various versions, as well as other gubbins.

For example, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions require a hefty 47GB install. On Xbox 360 the game comes on four discs, the first of which is a mandatory installation disc. On PlayStation 3 you'll need 8GB of hard drive space for disc play, or 17GB free for the PlayStation Network download.

Meanwhile, the Xbox One and PS4 versions include voice command support.

• Xbox One Hard Drive requirements: ~47 GB total install. Kinect support for Voice  Commands (English, French, Italian, German, Spanish only)
• Xbox 360 Hard Drive requirements: 8 GB minimum. Game includes four discs, including the first disc that is a mandatory installation disc
• PlayStation 3 Hard Drive requirements for disc play: 8 GB HDD space. Hard Drive requirements for PSN download: 17 GB HDD space

Wolfenstein: The New Order launches on 20th May 2014.
