Ghost Recon: Future Soldier delayed until May
Plus, Ubisoft confirms PC version and console beta.
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, the latest entry in Ubisoft's tactical shooter series has been delayed until 24th May.
The game had originally been announced for a March release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, though the development team has decided it needs a little more time.
"We're pretty much there. We just want to take that extra couple of months to make sure your experience is perfect," explained the game's development director Adrien Lacey via a YouTube announcement today.
Lacey also seized the moment to confirm that a PC version of the game is in the works - despite word to the contrary late last year - and a multiplayer beta will go live on consoles prior to launch.

Ubisoft have had a lot of time on this which most of their games need but I think this has been to the drawing board more than once while watching the success of COD and BF3. It could end up a right mess. Still looked a bit rubbish last time it was shown. We don't need more future hud. It's was overkill last time and even more so now.
I expect the less than stellar sales then the inevitable Ubisoft PR not long after. We're going back to Ghost Recon's roots with more pure game play without all the gimmicks and in your face hud, it's what the fans want. Yay.

Rainbow Six 3; Black Arrow, Splinter Cell, SC: Pandora Tomorrow, Ghost Recon 1 and 2 etc... Their names are dragged through the mud when Ubisoft brings out more of this bullshit.

I'm not sold on the new far'ish future setting either as I prefered when it was 10 years odd in advance and a bit more believable. I know there are a load of 1st person modern shooters now but I think being a 3rd person tactical shooter differenciates it enough.

Still with their new offline mode I am at least buying from PC favourite Ubi again so I'll keep an eye on it...but last time I saw it it had that awful let's write all over the environment nonsense from Splinter Cell Conviction. Hopefully they've changed that.

Since Chaos Theory and until Conviction the Splinter Cell games have been dire. Conviction needed to evolve its stealth mechanics and if Ubi kept making games to appeal to a niece fan base these games would not be around anymore so stop complaining.
