Resi 4, Code: Veronica out in September.

The HD makeovers of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Code: Veronica X arrive on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade in September, Capcom has announced.

As announced at Comic-Con this weekend, and reported by GameSpot, Resi 4 will be up for download from 20th September, with Code: Veronica X following a week later on the 27th.

No word on a price yet, but we're chasing down Capcom and will update if we hear back.

Xbox 360 customer will need to look under the Games on Demand tab, rather than in the Arcade section. As detailed earlier this month, the move has allowed Capcom to include 1000 Achievement points, rather than be restricted to XBLA's 200 point ceiling.

Japan gets both games as a single retail bundle from 8th September.

I reckon I will be getting these at launch, Resi 4 is pure excellence and I gladly play through it again, and hav'nt played CV in years, loved playing it on the Dreamcast and am looking forward to getting stuck into it again, should be getting darker around then too so it will be perfect!!

It seems the industry is focused more on remakes and upgrades than actually making new games these days, I think ill just break my GameCube out if I want to play RE4 again, and I personally feel classics should be left in the past playing CV again might just rub off the memory polish it had, I cant imagine its held up very well graphically even with a HD spitshine...

No one's putting a gun to your head and forcing you to buy this if you've already played the games before. For those of us that want the HD upgrades collections like this are great value. I've already got the Silent Hill collection pre-ordered and I'll likely pick this one up too.

Any excuse to play these again is fine with me, though what I'd really like to see an HD reissue of is Resident Evil Remake, if only it wasn't tied to Nintendo's platforms.

I'm holding out for a retail release, mainly due to me still running on a 20gig hdd, but these will be expensive and tend to limit my spending on digital content filled with drm

Worried about price, however Code Veronica was reason enough to own Dreamcast.

Shame the recent Dreamcast compilation was utter pap. MSR, Code Veronica, Shenmue and Skies of Arcadia would have been my ultimate package. Oh and PSO..... Fond memories indeed.

Good chance for people who've never played them before (all two of you), but I'd prefer Capcom to be making new games. Same with all the other creatively bankrupt developers out there these days, churning out remakes and HD collections for quick bucks. Bring on the gaming crash.
