Day one The Witcher 2 DLC revealed
All DLC to be free.
Polish developer CD Projekt has revealed the first downloadable content for fantasy role-playing game The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.
It's a side-quest called Troll Trouble, and launches day and date with the game.
Meanwhile, CD Projekt has promised its fans that all The Witcher 2 downloadable content will be free, including Troll Trouble.
"Let me announce that all our DLCs will be FREE," a CD Projekt developer wrote on US shop GameStop's Facebook page. "All of them. If anything will be for purchase, those will be expansion packs. First DLC will launch together with the game release."
This day one DLC is in addition to the myriad offerings from shops. You know how it is these days.
The Witcher 2, out today, is an adult RPG based in a linear/open hybrid world.

Nice, I was going to get it from Steam but then realised they were taking the piss asking for £30 so I got a hard copy, with extras you can't get (for the obvious reasons) with a digital copy. Plus it was £5 cheaper and to compound things further it wouldn't have unlocked until 5pm GMT, I'm off work today and should get it in the post this morning.

I got up at 6:45am this morning to try this game having already downloaded 9.6 GB of BIN files but now at 8:27am I'm only just getting around to actually trying it. Seems very tedious compared with a disc install in all honesty. I have to leave for work in 15 minutes too although I'm thankfully taking the afternoon off!
Oh, and terrific news that the DLC is free. Anyone who pirates this game should be ashamed of themselves IMO.

Precisely why I didn't get it from Steam, as I mentioned in my above post.

Plenty of bonuses, a free game or two, some store credit (though this might all be pre-order bonuses, not sure if it still applies) no DRM and of course a much bigger chunk of cash going to CD Projekt than if you'd bought it a retail.
