Two Worlds II misses UK release

TopWare a name you can trust.

The UK arrival of Two Worlds II, which has been a farce, has been delayed yet again.

The string of missed dates grows as the Polish-made RPG moves to a slot next Friday, 11th March.

Only last week was the game given a 2nd March date, when announced as an Amazon.co.uk exclusive for the UK.

We can't get hold of TopWare to find out what's going on, but if Amazon.co.uk says the date has changed then it probably means it has.

In spite of a UK release, Two Worlds II has managed to sell over 2 million copies across Europe and the US. That's because it's a good game; Eurogamer scored Two Worlds II 7/10.

Polish developer Reality Pump must be impressed.

Behind the scenes! Sadly doesn't contain swearing.

It seems with Duke Nukem Forever actually getting released, the industry needs a new joke.
Two Worlds 2 bravely steps up to take it's place.
  • Triggerhappytel #2 1 year ago

I'm not sure about anyone else, but I stopped giving a shit some weeks back now.

Fuck you Topware you useless bastards; you couldn't organise a piss-up in the fucking Guinness factory.
  • GamesConnoisseur #3 1 year ago

Actually the difference is the game is ALREADY out in rest of Europe other than here in UK!

But aye in sense of becoming a joke as much as DNF's release date up to new owners.
  • TheBiGW #4 1 year ago

Presumably no one has told them that March 11th is also the day Dragon Age 2 hits retailers. Surely this can't end well.
  • glaeken #5 1 year ago

Funny I remember finishing this about a month ago. For those who want it in the UK the European version comes with English language though the manual will likely be in the country of its origin.

As for a rating its a reasonable RPG and I did enjoy playing it but I would imagine Dragon Age 2 will be better. It's the sort of game I would be perfectly happy to pay £20 for but probably not a full price.

    @GamesConnoisseur

Yeah I know, that's what makes it so much of a joke in my eyes. DNF put the bar pretty fucking high, but this farce has topped it in spectacular style!

The thing is I would have bought the game if it had come out over here back when it was supposed to, but with announcement of Skyrim any enthusiasm I had has simply disappeared.

The ongoing UK release joke actually entertains me more than the product would have it seems.

I hope the dev sue the shit out of them.

Thankfully you can get hold of the PC version easily enough, I got my copy from Amazon three weeks ago, but I feel sorry for anyone with a 360 or PS3 who was waiting for the game.
  • BabyJesus #10 1 year ago

I feel sorry for the dev, they are losing sales in one of biggest markets in the world through no fault of their own. It's disgusting.
  • mkreku #11 1 year ago

At least it is an excellent game and Reality Pump should be proud of their work.

A game which will be dead on arrival! With the way UK gamers are being treated, i personally hope it fails miserably in the sales department!

I cancelled my order this morning. Releasing (If it even does) on DA2 day is just the final nail in the coffin. I may check it out when they're so desperate to shift them it hits the bargain bins.

The really sad part, the UK is probably the biggest market in the world for fantasy RPGs with Tolkien, Fighting Fantasy, Games Workshop and whatnot it's pretty much in our blood.

Seems kinda dumb to have allowed the original UK release to fall through, let alone have it die multiple times since then.

Worst part is, I still want this game, I'm just not prepared to spend "new release" money on a game this old. This should really have released at sub-£30 in the UK, as it would be selling at that point now had it been released according to schedule.

Eh, spotted this for sale at my local gaming gaff (360 and PS3) on Wednesday.

So i'm doube suprised to have seen it for sale considering i live in the back arse of Ireland.

/perpetuates stereotype and frolics with sheep.

Once again bittorrent trumps normal retail.
    What an idiots.
  • Gambit1977 #21 1 year ago

Yeah, release it same day as that dragon thing ;)
  • PearOfAnguish #22 1 year ago

Utterly stupid, and very unfair on the developers. I think this might be available on Steam now though.

I just discovered Divinity II:The Dragons Knight Saga on XB360...this is the game TW II was meant to be. DL the demo on XBL and discover a game with great graphics, large open world, plenty of character customization, decent fighting and most important surprises and variety...This was previously released before, but, reissued again with extra content and polished up to what it originally should have been - also priced cheaper!

Well worth checking if need another Oblivion (though Divinity looks more polished and is in 3rd perspective); the deeper you get in Divinity II the more impressive it becomes. Enjoying it more then Fable III, Fallout 3 and about the same as Oblivion.

I bought it on gamersgate, awesome RPG game.

The poles doing up the bathroom missed the predicted date too!

  • Bumbuliuz #29 1 year ago

The mainland Europe version has an english manual and English voice acting. So just do your self a favour and import the game.
  • apoc_reg #30 1 year ago

What a complete farce, i have had and been playing this game for MONTHS by ordering it on Amazon.de (still with free deliery).

    How hard is it!
  • NeverWinter78 #31 1 year ago

I gave up caring about this game about 3 missed release dates ago. Might pick it up when I see it for £10 but there are to many titles this month that's more worthy of my money than this is.
Tip for the developers : don't mess about the people you need to buy your game your the ones who lose out in the end

    Still waiting for my copy.
Started playing Oblivion again in anticipation. God, what an amazing game.
Probably won't get started on Two Worlds 2 and Dragon Age 2 before I complete it again ^_^
  • s3kShUn8 #36 1 year ago

Like Battlegoff said anyone in the UK/Ireland who's looking for a copy can snag one (or in my case two) off eBay. I managed to get them cheaper then what amazon was listing them for as well.
  • Battlegoff #37 1 year ago

got my copy this morning, just got work to get out of the way, then gona give it a go. Might have to put Bulletstorm on hold for a while...
  • Mr_Brown #38 1 year ago

eBay and Amazon have it for £34 and Amazon.de have it for 56 euro. I wouldn't have spent that money on it December last year. Considering it's now four months after release i'm not spending any more than £25 for it. That's never going to happen seeing how hard it is to get hold of. They can keep it, I'd rather wait for Elder Scrolls V now.
  • varkdm #39 1 year ago

With Rift just out and DA2 out on the same day I think this is a game I wont ever get.. unless I find myself in a big lull for games and its on a steam summer sale for £2 or something :)

Pitty, If it had come out here in september or even at the beginning of feb I would have bought it.

Having trouble understanding the meaning of the name 'Euro'gamer, DeeWox?
  • superfurry #41 1 year ago

This is all very strange. I live in Ireland and it's definately for sale in Gamestop, and has been since Tuesday. All the stock here would have to actually come from Britain on its way here so it's just bizarre that it's not for sale there.

I personally got fed up of waiting for it to show up here and ordered it from the Topware Amazon store, where they threw in a free soundtrack CD.
  • TRUTH #42 1 year ago

TWII hasn't received many good reviews - I recommend Divinity II: The Dragon King Saga...after reading the reviews for TWII, it seemed it still has various issues that spoil the game. This reason I decided to check for another decent rpg; already having Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fable III (boy this so overrated), Demon's Souls..I discovered Divinity II and am impressed with the scale and variety of the game: Looks good, it opens up more the more you get into it ,many surprises, a good mixture of Diablo/Oblivion!...You can download the demo and check it out.

This is really strange. Got my Asian version from PlayAsia, and it is in fact the UK version complete with PEGI rating 2 months ago :S.

hey guys, if you have had enough of Amazon/Topware fucking you around, 365games have it in stock and are shipping now.

@Yingying I should fucking hope so given that you, er... I mean Topware (right? ;) ), have completely fucked the UK over and now have the gall to charge more than anywhere else does. If and when I get it I'll buy it dirt cheap and second hand to ensure that you (oops, I mean Topware!) don't see a penny of my money.
