I would recommend giving it a try, some people call it a WoW clone, it's not.

It takes the best of each MMO out there a polishes it up while still having it's own flare and uniqueness.

So many class customizations, open world Rfits which are like public quests in Warhammer. There is over 8 tanking specs for a class unlike other MMO's that have one per class. Same goes for DPS and healer.

    Try it!

Must admit I rather enjoyed this weekend final CB session. It seems like the most polished MMO so near to release since WoW.

btw chaps there is a typo on the signup link URL.

Even though some will criticise it due to a wow feel, Rift is well worth a go if you are into MMORPG. The rifts themselves are scarily fun to be involved with ... you can find yourself in a raid group within minutes should you wish to be. I played all the beta phases except 2, and preordered it based on what I saw.

Worth a try ... by far the most polished beta MMORPG out there, it will never steal WoW's audience but I can see it carving a successful niche of its own.

The customisation options are impressive ... rumour has it it even has an end game , but so far that is not playable.

I find it funny when i read WoW clone, given that WoW pinched the major elements from Asherons Call and Everquest ...

RIFT is good fun in its own right, and very much fun to play.

This game is great so far tbh, well the PvE is. PvP is good but very unbalanced and I think will stay that way for a while.

Still, I really like it, shame it's sub based. Will be looking forward to the final beta phase.

Oh and anyone who says it's a WoW clone... is absolutely right. The game is extremely derivative of WoW, and to a cetain extent Warhammer online. It has very few original ideas of it's own, but it does do many of the things it does very well.

I tried this beta last weekend and during the starter zone i was not convinced, but as soon as i left there and headed out into the massive open world zones i was blown away, The world design is incredible so much depth and scale. Definitely going to be jamming more of it this weekend.

I like the prices published in this article, a sub equivalent to £5.99 per month if you buy in 6 month blocks? This will surely help the game survive.

Having just come out of the recent beta I was very impressed with the game and have really enjoyed it , it stopped me playing wow for a whole weekend, so thats something. Many innovations in this game will hopefully make it stand out from the crowd.

I've already pre-ordered the CE and will be there on early launch day, 24 th feb .

Good to see mostly positive comments here. I've also been enjoying the rift betas and enjoying what is a very polished and well thought out mmo.

    @Redbarony
I appreciate what you are saying but a lot of people like this very structured approach to MMO's, where you always know where to go and what to do, at least during the 1-50. But this is the beauty of the MMO market at the moment, there are so many choices that people of all tastes can find at least a couple of games to interest them. If you're after something less structured i can recommend fallen earth.

Played the beta. Seemed just like WoW to me. I even asked in the chat what the difference was, and was told that it takes what WoW does well and "refines it". Yawn.
