Castlevania: Lords of Shadow DLC
Continue Gabriel's story.
Konami has extended the life of superb action game Castlevania: Lords of Shadow with two new downloadable add-ons set for launch early next year.
They will feature all new areas, monsters, and brand new story lines. Reverie returns players to the Castle as Gabriel to help Laura, the former servant to the vampire Carmilla, in destroying the unruly evil that was previously kept in check by the recently slain Queen, Konami said this afternoon.
The second DLC, Resurrection, continues the story directly after the end of the game. It provides insight into the epilogue seen by players upon completion of the game, and Gabriel's "ultimate destiny". Konami said Resurrection will be "larger in scope" than Reverie because it features a final showdown with a "very notorious enemy". Who could it be?
Reverie will be available in February, while Resurrection will launch sometime in April. No pricing details were mentioned.
Artwork for the DLC is below – warning, it may contain spoilers.
Eurogamer's Castlevania: Lords of Shadow review returned an excellent 8/10. "MercurySteam has managed to deliver a game that's heartfelt, handsome, and quietly distinct," wrote Christian Donlan.

I usually don't go for too much DLC, but I'll definitely be getting these.

Great to see some more of this, and that they chose Laura, as part of the narrative focus for the first expansion.

You did it 100%? How?
I couldn't seem to get the trial where you finish level 1 without recovering health. I didn't recover health as far as I know i.e used no magic and made sure to fall off the horse each time. What the frak am I missing?

You don't have to fall off the horse - just press the action button (square on PS3, X on 360) during the QTE and you'll stay on the horse. If you fall off, you lose health, so try and stay on the horse as much as possible while killing off the Lycan riders and the Wargs.
All that the trial entails is you do NOT regain any health lost, either by:
[1] using the Life fountain or by
[2] using Light magic attacks (this question arises only if you've finished Chapter 1 previously).
Finish the level without resorting to either (1) or (2) and you will have finished the trial successfully.

Well, he also wrote
In fact, it's one of those rare games which would be better for – whisper it – being a little shorter: Konami's medieval ramble is already sufficiently roomy without a handful of moments that are so clearly thrown in just to add a bit of time to the clock.
I liked the game, epic and beautiful to look at, but it dragged a bit too much, and I was left fully saturated at the end. DLC therefore seems a bit unnecessary. Still, it didn't sell so stellarly, so I hope for them this gives them a bit more profit.

A 10-12 hour more focused quest would have been better but the developers did a great job trying to please fans of the series and fans of old school adventure games in general.
