EA admits Store-based "error".

Update: EA has not released Battlefield 1943 on PC. The EA Store listing was an "error".

"BF 1943 PC is not available. This is an error on EA store. We are working to sort it out," the company tweeted.

Original story: EA has finally released Battlefield 1943 on PC.

The game costs $15 from the US EA Store, although there's no sign of it on the European Store yet.

The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Battlefield 1943 were released more than a year ago. And they did very well, both from a critical and commercial perspective.

I honestly thought this was already available for the PC...??

I bet the lucky sods get some extra maps too. I love the 4 we get, but it really needs some more.

Honestly thought this was out aeons ago for PC. Remember seeing the ticker tape thing on xbox version saying it was going to have a bazillion players in the same game (maybe).

Fired up the game last night as it goes for the first time in months - kinda forgot how much I enjoyed it and pleasantly surprised it was lag free. Would like more maps though even if that is unlikely...

It would be nice if it was finally released, but unfortunately, its a cock up on the store as Ph0bos points out. BF1943 is the ultimate vapourware for PC, if we ever see it i'll eat my cat. Or hat. Or something.

Awww I feel tight on pc owners. I read this on Kotaku this morning and I thought about time and now it's a mistake? Mongs. They really are. Someone at EA has took the time to write all that info up and put it on there website. How do you mess up like that?

I played it a lot on my 360 when it was first released and enjoyed it enough to pay for the PC version a year ago.

Since then I've long since sold my 360 and no doubt I'll be required to sell my soul before that same PC version ever shows up.

Well seeing as BF:BC2's multiplayer is effectively the same thing but much tighter is it really that great of a loss?
