Xbox One is launching with a YouTube App

Watch 1080p videos, use voice and gesture controls.

The Xbox One will come with its own dedicated YouTube App when the console launches this Friday, Microsoft has announced.

With the Xbox One's YouTube App you'll be able to stream videos in glorious 1080p, and offers both voice and gesture controls for selecting videos and telling the console if you want to pause, play, fast-forward, etc.

While not ready for launch, YouTube is aiming to support the Xbox One's picture-in-picture Snap Mode "in the coming months."

Note: The YouTube App won't be ready at launch for Ireland, Austria, and New Zealand, but Microsoft noted that in these territories the app will "be available in the coming days."

The YouTube App also isn't used for uploading gameplay videos directly, as first the player needs to upload a clip using SkyDrive.
