Ubisoft reveals new Prince of Persia

The Forgotten Sands for May 2010.

Ubisoft has confirmed the existence of a new Prince of Persia game subtitled The Forgotten Sands.

The game will be released "on consoles and handhelds" in May 201, and features elements you'll recognise from the Sands of Time series and exciting new elements you won't.

We spotted this in October when series creator Jordan Mechner filed a trademark to protect the name.

The game falls neatly alongside the Hollywood interpretation of the IP, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, which stars Jake Gyllenhaal and will be released on 28th May 2010.

The Sands of Time series spanned three games, POP: The Sands of Time (brilliant), POP: Warrior Within (decent) and POP: The Two Thrones (good).
