Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain shows Snake turning into a devil

Oh, hell.

Think you've seen all Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain has to offer? The latest gameplay trailer is here to tell you that no, you have not.

The footage begins as you might expect - Snake is off on his mission, Quiet is there to help, there are guns, tanks and open world gameplay.

And then it all starts to get rather strange. Who is that floating character? Who is that spiky character? Wait - Snake has a horn now?

Oh, and there's a couple of lines which could be read as subtle hints to Hideo Kojima's split from Konami - for example: "I always worked better on my own anyway."
