Koei to bring Persona 3 to Europe
Atlus RPG coming next month.Koei has said it will be bringing Persona 3 to European shops on 29th February.
It is a standalone part of the Shin Megami Tensei role-playing series on PS2, although you need no previous knowledge of that to enjoy it.
Your challenge is to survive a year at a Japanese school riddled with nasty creatures like teachers and naughty schoolgirls, probably. Through the day you increase your abilities by learning, then at night you fight.
Helping you battle are Personas you summon by shooting yourself in the head with a device called an Evoker. Caused quite a stir, that did.
Persona 3 has been out in Japan since 2006 and in the US from late 2007, where it picked up considerable critical acclaim.
Praise came for its spooky storyline and skilful social integration into common RPG mechanics, while it fell down by being a little repetitive.
Koei also said it had no plans to release a director's cut - or "FES" version as it was called in Japan - for the time being.
Watch out for our thoughts on it soon. Meanwhile, pop your head into our Persona 3 gallery for an idea of what to expect.
