Hearthstone's new single-player Monster Hunt mode revealed

Beastly.

Blizzard has finally detailed Monster Hunt, the upcoming new single-player offering which will launch for free next Thursday, 26th April at 6pm here in the UK.

In short, The Witchwood's Monster Hunt is an evolved form of last year's excellent Dungeon Run mode for Kobolds and Catacombs - where you face a series of bosses and slowly build a deck with treasures and regular cards obtained after each victory.

Monster Hunt adds a new wrinkle - this time you're playing as four new monster hunter characters rather than with the standard Hearthstone class heroes. Each has their own hero power, of course, and there are new game modifying treasures to find.

Complete the mode with each hunter character and use them to fight their specific "nemesis" opponent - and you'll then unlock a special final boss fight which Blizzard is keeping under wraps.

The mode looks a fun - one monster's hero power of throwing cards at your face is a particular highlight - if not revolutionary new addition. But, as a completely free offering, is hard to argue with.
